Things to Do in Krabi
Limestone cliffs, emerald water, and the world's most beautiful beach walks
Krabi: Where Limestone Meets the Sea
Krabi Province is home to some of Thailand's most dramatic scenery — vertical limestone karsts rising hundreds of metres from turquoise water, hidden beaches accessible only by longtail boat, and a cave system that snakes beneath the jungle. The gateway town of Ao Nang is laid-back and well-serviced, while Railay Beach (reachable only by boat) consistently ranks among the world's most beautiful beaches. Whether you're here to climb, kayak, snorkel, or simply stare at the view, Krabi delivers.

Getting Around Krabi
Longtail Boat
The defining Krabi experience. Longtails run from Ao Nang Beach to Railay (15 min, ฿100–150 per person) throughout the day until around 9pm. After dark, private boats cost ฿1,500–2,000. They're the only way to reach Railay and Tonsai.
Grab App
Works reliably in Ao Nang and Krabi Town for car transfers and scooter-taxis. Best for airport transfers and moving between Ao Nang and the town pier, where songthaew negotiations can be frustrating.
Scooter Rental
฿200–300/day from shops throughout Ao Nang. Useful for reaching the Tiger Cave Temple (3 km from Ao Nang), nearby viewpoints, and Krabi Town. Not necessary if you're basing yourself solely at Railay.
Songthaew (Local Shared Truck)
Run between Ao Nang and Krabi Town for ฿50–80 per person. Departures are irregular but frequent during the day. The cheapest option for moving between the town and beach areas — wave one down on the main road.
