2025 Trends & Changes
2025 saw a 7.2% decline in arrivals compared to 2024, driven by several factors. Here are the key shifts.
From 6.73M (2024) to ~4.47M (2025). Factors include a Chinese actor abduction incident in January 2025 and broader economic slowdown in China.
From 2.13M (2024) to 2.49M (2025). India is now the fastest-growing source market, partially offsetting Chinese declines.
With 4.52M arrivals in 2025, Malaysia overtook China as the top source market for the first time in several years.
Introduced February 2026 for all international air arrivals. Revenue funds tourism infrastructure and visitor insurance.
