Krabi Town Night Market
Running every Friday through Sunday evening from 5pm to 10pm, this weekend night market in the Pak Nam area of Krabi Town draws a healthy mix of locals and visitors, giving it an authenticity that sets it apart from more tourist-heavy markets elsewhere in Thailand. Stalls line the walkways with affordable street food, clothing, and souvenirs, while live music and a relaxed open-air setting make it as much a social occasion as a shopping trip. Food is a clear highlight here. Visitors consistently note the generous portions, low prices, and variety of local dishes and snacks on offer. Drinks, including beer, are noticeably cheaper than at nearby restaurants, making it a practical choice for an affordable evening out. The friendly vendors and lively atmosphere contribute to a setting that feels genuinely lived-in rather than staged for tourists. Because the market only operates on weekends, it is worth planning around if visiting Krabi Town mid-week. Arriving closer to opening at 5pm offers a cooler, less crowded experience before the evening gets busier. Comfortable footwear is recommended for walking the stalls, and bringing cash is advisable as many vendors are unlikely to accept card payments.

I really enjoyed visiting Aonang Night Market! There were lots of food stalls with delicious local dishes and snacks. The atmosphere was lively with music and friendly vendors. Great place to experience local culture and try Thai street food. Highly recommended for an evening walk!
The best market we visited while in Thailand. Not as touristy as other cities, you actually see locals eat everywhere and the prices are cheaper too. Had some good food with nice portions :)

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
