Kuan Nom Saow Restaurant and Viewpoint
Perched on a hillside in the Khao Thong area of Mueang Krabi District, this casual eatery doubles as a viewpoint, drawing visitors with its combination of authentic Thai cooking and expansive views over the surrounding Krabi landscape. The setting is natural and unhurried, with a relaxed atmosphere that feels more like a neighbourhood spot than a venue catering primarily to tourists — a quality that comes through in both the pricing and the pace of service. Prawn fritters and pineapple rice are among the dishes most frequently praised by visitors, and the kitchen maintains reasonable prices despite the elevated location. Seating with a direct view of the scenery is limited, particularly in the front row, so arriving early improves the chances of securing the better spots. The food and the views together make this a practical stop for those exploring the Mueang Krabi area. Open every day from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, mornings are generally the most comfortable time to visit — cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and a quieter atmosphere tend to make for a more pleasant experience. No website is listed, so reservations do not appear to be an option. The hillside location is worth keeping in mind when choosing footwear, and those sensitive to heat are better served by planning a morning visit rather than arriving in the middle of the day.

Visitor Reviews
This is a must visit while in Krabi. The view from Kuan Nom Saow Restaurant is incredible, and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The food is not over priced because of the view, it is very reasonable for the type of setting. We had a few drivers cancel on us or ask for a higher price when trying to book the ride on Grab. We finally ended up finding a driver on InDrive and asked him to take us there and wait there to bring us back for 700 baht. I would recommend arranging the round trip with your driver because a lot of drivers do not want to make a special trip out there because of the dirt road and steep incline leading up to the restaurant. Some cars may not be able to make it all the way to the top so you may have to walk up some of the way. The drive up is steep, but once you arrive, it is completely worth it. A great place to slow down, enjoy the natural beauty, and have a truly unique experience in Krabi.
Absolutely beautiful place with an amazing view. We went early in the morning and it was the perfect time.. peaceful, not crowded, and without the heat, which made the experience even more special. The environment is stunning and very relaxing. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the charm of the place. We had fried rice and iced coffee, both were very good and honestly better than expected. Prices are very fair and not expensive at all, especially considering the view and the overall experience. Such a lovely place to enjoy the scenery, have a nice meal, and slow down for a moment. Highly recommended!
It was an amazing experience visiting this lovely hidden restaurant! The views are spectacular. We’ve had the prawn fritters and pineapple rice. Both were absolutely delicious. The service 5* everyone very happy and friendly. We struggled getting a taxi back to our hotel since the place is in the middle of nowhere but the staff organised someone local to take us for a very reasonable charge. This is a must if you like nature and the simple pleasures.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
