Kanabnam View Seafood
Kanabnam View Seafood is a family-run, open-air floating restaurant set beside the river in Krabi, accessible only by a short long-tail boat ride of around ten minutes. This sense of arrival is part of the appeal — diners pass through mangrove-lined waterways before reaching a breezy riverfront setting with views of fish pens, limestone karsts, and the surrounding forest. The restaurant is also halal-certified, making it a welcoming option for a broad range of visitors. The menu centres on fresh seafood, with fish sourced directly from the on-site fish farm. Dishes are prepared in a straightforward Thai style that lets the quality of the ingredients come through. Pricing sits in the mid-range, offering reasonable value given both the food and the setting. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, with the combination of river breezes, natural surroundings, and unhurried service making it a noticeably different experience from dining in central Krabi town. The restaurant is open seven days a week from 10am to 9pm, so it suits both lunch and dinner visits. Because reaching it involves coordinating a boat transfer, travellers coming from further afield — such as Railay Beach — should factor in extra travel time. Checking the website or contacting the restaurant in advance is worthwhile for groups or anyone wanting to plan the logistics, particularly if visiting on a weekend when it tends to be busier.

Visitor Reviews
Open air floating family-run seafood restaurant next to/on the river. Beautiful setting, slight breeze -- important in February -- incredible views of the river, mangrove islands, fish pens and occasional long tail on the river. 5 minute boat ride from Chao Fah pier (which is on the river side of Krabi). Free pick up and return. 100B extra for a trip through a mangrove island, a 5 minute detour and definitely worth it. 2000B for a big dinner for two of mud crab curry, clams in lemongrass broth, small langouste/giant prawn. Kingfishers dove into the water while Brahminy kites soared overhead. Our waitress fed the fish in the fish pens so that we could see the meter-long cobia, bass and others rise to the surface. Beware the lurkers below... huge groupers... One pen held spectacular reef fish as well. (Our waitress admitted that the fish had become pets so they didn't eat them.) As the shadows got long, a long tail boat brought a family of 4 to join us on our 20m x 30m 'dining room', and the muezzin called in the background. 10/10 fun, 10/10 awesome experience, 9/10 food. Go! Do it! Note - the boat leaves from very close to "The River" restaurant in Krabi. Call the resto for where to find the boat if it isn't obvious.
⭐️ Review: Kanabnam View Seafood & Fish Farm – Krabi I visited this restaurant with my family during our trip to Krabi, and it was an experience to remember. The journey began with a long-tail boat ride to the restaurant, which is located on an island in the Khlong Prasong village community. Along the way, we got to observe the local lifestyle, giving the whole trip a light adventurous vibe and a chance to enjoy another charming side of Krabi. When we arrived, the atmosphere was fantastic. The restaurant offers a beautiful, wide view of the Krabi River with a refreshing breeze, making the meal even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding — fish, shrimp, shellfish — all incredibly fresh. Every dish was delicious with no misses. Another highlight was the excellent service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had a great dining experience. 📌 In summary: • Wonderful atmosphere with a touch of nature and adventure • Very fresh and delicious seafood • Excellent service • Perfect for family meals or special occasions
We came to this charming restaurant tucked into the middle of the forest for dinner and despite it being slightly logistically challenging as we had to take the boat from Railay beach, then car then boat again to this "mini island" it is totally worth the trip! The seafood is extremely fresh, seasoned to perfection and the spice level is adjusted for us central Thai folks! The staff here are very friendly and give us honest recommendation about the catch of the day and how it should be cooked. The atmosphere is great as we are on the floating platform on the waters right next to the mangrove. Would highly recommend for everyone who wants to experience authentic Southern Thai cuisine surrounded by fresh nature!

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
