Michelin Star Restaurants in Bangkok, From Three Stars to Street Stalls
Two three-stars, a street stall with a star, and 32 Bib Gourmands where lunch costs less than a cocktail upstairs.
Bangkok has 39 Michelin-starred restaurants in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Thailand, and 41 if you count the two in Nonthaburi just over the city line. Two hold three stars, Sorn for Southern Thai cooking and Sühring for modern German, eight hold two, and 29 hold one. The city also has 32 Bib Gourmands, the guide's award for very good food at a moderate price, and one street stall with a star, Raan Jay Fai, whose crab omelet is still the most famous dish in the guide.
Below is every starred restaurant by tier, the Bib Gourmands worth crossing town for and what to order at each, the street food, where they cluster so you can eat several in a day, and the picks in Chiang Mai and Phuket. One date matters if you're booking ahead. Michelin announces its 2027 selection on 10 November 2026, so a few of these will change then.

Key Facts
39 starred restaurants and 32 Bib Gourmands in Bangkok
Two three-stars (Sorn, Sühring), eight two-stars and 29 one-stars in the city itself. Michelin's own pages give bigger numbers because they count the surrounding provinces too, 41 starred and 44 Bib Gourmands for "Bangkok and surroundings".
A Bib Gourmand meal costs no more than about ฿1,000
Michelin last put the Thai Bib Gourmand threshold at no more than ฿1,000 for a meal, and most of Bangkok's Bibs come in far below that. A bowl at Kolun.h is about ฿100. Stars are judged on the cooking only, so a star can be a street stall.
Jay Fai is the only street stall with a star
Raan Jay Fai on Maha Chai Road kept its star in 2026. It opens Wednesday to Saturday from 09:00 to 19:30, it's cash only and walk-in only, and the standard crab omelet is ฿1,500.
The 2027 stars are announced on 10 November 2026
Michelin announces the Bib Gourmands about a week before the stars. If you've booked a starred dinner for late 2026 or 2027, it's worth checking the new list once it's out.
Book starred dinners weeks ahead, and check the closed day
Sorn releases the next month's tables on the 25th, and Sühring and Baan Tepa take bookings up to 60 days ahead. Most starred kitchens open for dinner only, and many close on Mondays, Tuesdays or both. The street-food Bibs keep short hours instead. Thai Tham closes at 14:00, K. Panich at 17:00, and Somsak Pu Ob only opens at 16:00.
Bring cash for the Bibs
Jay Fai, Bunloet, Ten Suns, Urai, Hia Wan, Pae and Prik-Yuak are cash only on the MICHELIN Guide. Thai Niyom, Plu and Janhom take cards.
Bangkok's Three-Star and Two-Star Restaurants
These are the ten restaurants with two or three stars in the city, all in the MICHELIN Guide's top price band and all tasting menus at dinner. I haven't eaten at them, so what follows comes from the guide and from what diners say, not from my own meals.
1. Sorn, Sukhumvit 26
Three stars, Southern ThaiChef Supaksorn Jongsiri's Southern Thai tasting menu, in a heritage house off Sukhumvit, is the first Thai restaurant to reach three stars. The guide singles out the produce, Tapi River prawns, Phuket lobster and Andaman squid, and the pacing of a long menu built on bold, balanced southern flavors.
It's open for dinner from 18:00 to 22:00 and closed on Saturdays. The Classic menu is ฿7,800++, and tables for the next month open on TableCheck on the 25th at 12:00 Bangkok time, so be online then.
2. Sühring, Yen Akat, Sathon
Three stars, modern GermanTwin brothers Thomas and Mathias Sühring cook a modern German tasting menu from their family's recipes in a restored villa on a quiet soi off Yen Akat Road. The 2026 guide raised it from two stars to three. The two menu lengths are ฿7,800++ and ฿9,800++, and lunch is ฿5,800++.
Dinner runs Wednesday to Sunday with the last seating at 19:30, and lunch Thursday to Sunday from 12:30.
3. Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie, Mandarin Oriental
Two stars, French on the riverThe Mandarin Oriental's French dining room on the Chao Phraya, now run with Anne-Sophie Pic, was promoted to two stars in 2026. It's the most classic room on this list, formal, with river views, and it's open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday.
4. INDDEE, Soi Lang Suan
Two stars, IndianAbout ten courses that travel India's regions, from a carabinero prawn finished at the table for Goa to pickled vegetables for the Himalayan winter. Promoted to two stars in 2026, and open every night from 17:30.
5. Gaa, Sukhumvit 53
Two stars, Indian with Thai produceChef Garima Arora's tasting menu starts from her Indian heritage and builds on Thai produce, in a restored Thai house near Thong Lo. She was the first Indian woman chef to hold two stars. It opens every night, with lunch at weekends.
6. Baan Tepa, Ramkhamhaeng
Two stars, farm-to-table ThaiChef Chudaree Debhakam's seven-course Thai menu in her family's house and garden, built on what's in season, with trays of the raw ingredients brought to the table first. It holds a Green Star as well. It's a long ride east, and it's open Wednesday to Sunday.
7. R-Haan, Thong Lo
Two stars, classic ThaiSeasonal Thai tasting menus on a quiet soi off Thong Lo, drawing on traditional recipes rather than reinvention. Diners rate the wine pairings highly. Dinner every night.
8. Côte by Mauro Colagreco, Capella, Charoen Krung

The One-Star Restaurants Worth Booking
Nine one-stars I'd shortlist from the 29, chosen for Thai cooking at different prices plus the city's most famous tasting menu. Prices are each restaurant's own, before the 10% service charge and 7% VAT unless marked net.
1. POTONG, Chinatown
Thai-Chinese in a family houseChef Pam's progressive Thai-Chinese menu in her family's old medicine house off Yaowarat, with a vegetarian menu too, which is rare at this level. The menu is ฿6,700++, there's a ฿1,000 deposit per guest, and it's closed on Wednesdays.

What's New in the 2026 Michelin Guide
Sühring became Bangkok's second three-star, joining Sorn. Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie and INDDEE moved up to two stars. Nusara, Bo.lan, Gaggan, GOAT, Sushi Saito, Cannubi by Umberto Bombana, etcha and Juksunchae are new one-stars, and GOAT also took a Green Star for sustainable cooking.
Four Bangkok-area Bib Gourmands are new, among them Kolun.h's Hainanese noodles, Keawloon's Southern cooking and Jaan by Khun Jim in the city, and SANN in Nonthaburi. Across Thailand the guide lists 468 places, 43 with stars, 137 Bib Gourmands and 288 more it recommends without an award.

Jay Fai and Bangkok's Michelin Street Food
Michelin files four Bangkok places as street food, Jay Fai with a star and K. Panich, Bunloet and Somsak Pu Ob with a Bib Gourmand, and several more Bibs are one-dish shophouses that eat the same way. These are the ones I'd build a day around. Most are in the old city, so you can walk between them.
1. Raan Jay Fai, Maha Chai Road, old city
The one street stall with a starThe chef in ski goggles, cooking crab omelets, drunken noodles and yellow-curry prawns over charcoal at a shophouse on Maha Chai Road. The 2026 guide kept her star. The standard crab omelet is ฿1,500 and a larger version ฿4,000, prices the restaurant gave the Thai press in 2025 after a fine for not displaying them clearly.
It opens Wednesday to Saturday from 09:00 to 19:30, it's walk-in only and cash only, and the staff take names and orders down the queue, which Michelin calls well organized. Some diners find it oilier and saltier than the legend, so treat it as an experience you've chosen rather than the best meal of the trip.
- When to go
- A weekday at opening, or early afternoon.
2. K. Panich, Tanao Road, old city
Mango sticky rice, since 1932Mango sticky rice and other traditional sweets from a plain storefront near Democracy Monument, a Bib Gourmand every year since 2019. A portion is about ฿130. It's open Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 17:00, and mornings are calmer.
3. Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu, Dinso Road, old city
Pad thai with char-grilled porkA sit-down pad thai room on Dinso Road whose signature is pad thai topped with char-grilled pork, the plate the Bib Gourmand is for. It's dearer than a cart, about ฿250 for the chicken version, and open from 10:00 to midnight every day, which makes it the late option on this list.
4. Kolun.h, Mahannop Road, old city
Hainanese rice noodlesHainanese-style rice noodles since 1997, with braised pork, radish and crispy pork belly in a sticky or a clear peppery broth, about ฿100 a bowl. New to the Bib list in 2026, near the Giant Swing, open from 08:00 to 15:00.
5. Thai Tham, Phraeng Phuthon Road, old city
A century-old offal shopSame family for more than a hundred years, and the Bib is for the stewed pig's brain the owner prepares every morning. The Chinese liver sausage is the starter. Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 14:00.

The 2026 MICHELIN Guide Thailand's Bib Gourmand list for Bangkok, with the dishes its inspectors name. Krua Apsorn's Bib is for the Sam Sen branch in Dusit, not the Dinso Road original near Democracy Monument. Another 12 Bibs are in the surrounding provinces, among them SANN (new in 2026) and Kaeng Pa Loong Sa-Nga in Nonthaburi and Nai Ngieb in Nakhon Pathom.
Stars, Bib Gourmand and Selected, Explained
Michelin's stars rate the cooking alone, not the room or the service. One star is high-quality cooking worth a stop, two stars excellent cooking worth a detour, and three stars exceptional cuisine worth a special journey. That's why a shophouse like Jay Fai can hold one, and why Saneh Jaan holds a star in the guide's second-cheapest price band.
A Bib Gourmand isn't a lesser star. It's a separate award for very good food at a moderate price, which Michelin last put at no more than ฿1,000 a meal in Thailand. Many Bangkok Bibs are one-dish noodle or rice shops that cost a fraction of that, and some locals trust a Bib more than a star for exactly that reason.
The Green Star is a separate badge for sustainable cooking, and five Thai restaurants hold one, Baan Tepa, GOAT and Haoma in Bangkok and Jampa and PRU in Phuket. Everything else in the guide is Selected, places the inspectors recommend without an award, and there are 288 of them across Thailand. A restaurant described as "Michelin-listed" or "in the Michelin Guide" is usually one of these. If a sign or a menu says Michelin, check whether it means a star, a Bib or a listing.
Where Bangkok's Michelin Restaurants Cluster
Plan by neighborhood and you can eat three or four of these in a day without spending it in traffic.
The old city, for a street-food day
Jay Fai on Maha Chai Road, Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu and Krua Apsorn's original on Dinso Road (Michelin's Bib is its Sam Sen branch), K. Panich on Tanao Road, Kolun.h by the Giant Swing, Thai Tham on Phraeng Phuthon and Ten Suns on Wisut Kasat are all a few streets apart around Democracy Monument. Start with noodles at Kolun.h or Thai Tham, queue at Jay Fai if you're going to, and finish with mango sticky rice at K. Panich before it closes at 17:00. Nusara, a starred dinner across from Wat Pho, is a short taxi ride away.
Chinatown and Song Wat
Urai's braised goose is on Song Wat Road, a short walk from POTONG, Chef Pam's starred Thai-Chinese dinner in a 120-year-old family house off Yaowarat. Chinatown's street food after dark is mostly unstarred, so treat it as the snack crawl before or after.
Charoen Krung and Bang Rak, for dinner
The river end of Bang Rak has the densest run of dinners. Aksorn and 80/20 (one star each), Samlor (a Bib Gourmand), Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie (two stars) at the Mandarin Oriental, and Côte (two stars) at the Capella are all along or just off Charoen Krung, and Chef's Table and Mezzaluna sit at the top of State Tower on Silom. Aunglo, another Bib, is on Decho Road near Chong Nonsi. This is the part of town I'd stay in for a Michelin trip.
Sukhumvit, Thong Lo and Ekkamai
Sorn and both Rung Rueang shops are on Sukhumvit 26, Gaa and Bo.lan on Sukhumvit 53, R-Haan off Thong Lo, Gaggan on Sukhumvit 31 and Here Hai on Ekkamai. A starred dinner here pairs naturally with a noodle lunch on Soi 26.
Michelin Picks Beyond Bangkok
Chiang Mai has no stars in the 2026 guide but 18 Bib Gourmands, and they're the best guide to northern food in the city. Khao Soi Mae Sai is the khao soi Bib (Monday to Saturday until 16:00, cash only), Huen Muan Jai cooks northern dishes like galangal dip with mushrooms, Roti Pa Day on Tha Phae Road is the late-night roti stop, and Meena out in San Kamphaeng serves five-color rice in a garden.
Phuket has one star, PRU at Trisara, a farm-to-table tasting menu that also holds a Green Star, and 19 Bib Gourmands, most of them in Phuket Town. One Chun for crab meat in yellow curry, The Charm Dining Gallery for Peranakan cooking, Go Benz for crispy pork late at night and Roti Chaofa for breakfast roti with curry are the easy ones to string together around the Old Town. The other southern star, Aulis, is in Phang-nga.
Isan has 28 Bib Gourmands and Ayutthaya eight, which tells you how seriously the guide takes Thailand's regional cooking. If you're choosing where in Thailand to eat, the Best Places in Thailand for Food guide compares the cities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Michelin Star Restaurants in Bangkok, From Three Stars to Street Stalls.
39 in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Thailand, two with three stars (Sorn and Sühring), eight with two and 29 with one. Michelin's own pages say 41 for "Bangkok and surroundings" because they add two one-stars in Nonthaburi.
฿1,500 for the standard crab omelet and ฿4,000 for a larger version, the prices the restaurant gave the Thai press in 2025. Bring cash.
Jay Fai, where a meal is a dish or two rather than a tasting menu. For a starred tasting menu, Bo.lan's weekend luncheon at ฿2,880++, Saneh Jaan's five courses at ฿3,200++ and Nahm's Heritage menu at ฿3,900++ are the cheapest, then Aksorn at ฿4,150++ and 80/20 at ฿4,500++. The ++ adds about 18% for service and VAT.
An award for very good food at a moderate price, separate from the stars. Michelin last set Thailand's threshold at no more than ฿1,000 for a meal, and most of Bangkok's 32 Bibs cost far less, many are noodle shops at ฿60–150 a bowl.
Neither is better. A star rates the cooking alone at any price, and a Bib rewards good cooking at a moderate price. For a traveler, the Bibs are often the better meals per baht and the more Thai ones.
137 in the 2026 guide, 13 of them new. 44 are in Bangkok and the surrounding provinces (32 in the city itself), 28 in Isan, 19 in Phuket, 18 in Chiang Mai, eight in Ayutthaya, seven in Surat Thani, six in Phang-nga, five in Chon Buri and two on Koh Samui.
Only Raan Jay Fai. K. Panich (mango sticky rice), Bunloet (egg noodles with grilled pork) and Somsak Pu Ob (crab on glass noodles) are street food with a Bib Gourmand, and noodle shops like Kolun.h, Ten Suns and Rung Rueang Tung are Bibs in all but the label.
The stars are announced on Tuesday, 10 November 2026, and Michelin reveals the Bib Gourmands about a week earlier. This page will be updated with the new list.
Sühring was promoted to three stars, Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie and INDDEE to two, and Nusara, Bo.lan, Gaggan, GOAT, Sushi Saito, Cannubi, etcha and Juksunchae are new one-stars in Bangkok. Thailand has 43 starred restaurants and 137 Bib Gourmands in the 2026 edition.
Two. Sorn, for Southern Thai cooking on Sukhumvit 26, and Sühring, for modern German food in a villa off Yen Akat Road, which was promoted to three stars in the 2026 guide.
POTONG is the one star, in a heritage house off Yaowarat, and Urai Braised Goose on Song Wat Road is the Bib Gourmand. Jay Fai, K. Panich and the old-city noodle Bibs are a short taxi ride north.

I lived in Bangkok for four years and traveled the country from there. The guides are my own opinions, written the way I'd explain them to a friend planning a trip.
