Saneh Jaan
Saneh Jaan is a Michelin-recognised Thai restaurant situated on Thanon Witthayu in Bangkok's Lumphini district, drawing diners who appreciate elevated Thai cuisine in a setting that balances elegance with genuine culinary substance. The restaurant has built a reputation for thoughtful, well-executed Thai cooking that honours traditional flavours while presenting them with the precision and artistry expected at the fine-dining level. Guests can expect a beautifully decorated interior that reviewers have likened to a modern Thai palace, with seating arrangements designed for comfort and intimacy — couples are notably seated side by side rather than across from one another. The menu features set options such as the Samrub Thai tasting sets, with multiple course selections and accommodations for dietary preferences including beef-free alternatives. Dishes are carefully presented, portions are generous by fine-dining standards, and service is consistently praised as attentive and polished from start to finish, making it a strong choice for birthdays, anniversaries, or business entertaining. The restaurant operates evening hours only, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM every day of the week. Advance reservations are strongly recommended given the upscale nature of the venue and its popularity for special occasions. Smart or business casual dress suits the atmosphere. The Lumphini location places it within easy reach of major hotels along Thanon Witthayu and the wider Silom and Sathorn business districts.

Visitor Reviews
This is the only fine-dining/Michelin-starred restaurant I’ve been to that actually left me extremely full. We came to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday lunch and received genuinely excellent hospitality throughout the meal. The staff went out of their way to make sure she was well taken care of, which made the experience feel thoughtful and personal. The food is Thai fusion, and you can clearly taste influences from different regions of Thailand. One standout for me was the white rice- arguably the best I’ve ever had. It becomes softer and more delicate with each bite. The traditional sweet-and-sour crispy noodle with river prawn and accompanying condiments was also quite unique and well executed. We pre-booked the Hungry Hub sharing set for two at 3,790 THB, which felt like strong value for both the quantity and quality of food. They also offer a set lunch at 950 THB, which is another approachable way to experience the restaurant. Before visiting, I had read negative reviews criticizing the food for not being “Michelin star-level.” After eating here myself, I think the issue comes down to expectations. At this price point when comparable Michelin meals often run 6,000+ THB per person, there simply isn’t a Michelin-star experience that matches those standards. If you adjust expectations accordingly, you’ll find yourself having a very enjoyable and satisfying meal, particularly for the value. Overall, the combination of thoughtful service, generous portions, and well-executed Thai flavors makes this a place I’d happily return to. Special thanks to our server, Jittawan, for making the lunch one that was memorable.
Tried the “Earth” Samrub Thai Set as husband and i could not eat beef so we decided to go with the set without beef. Loved how the seats are arranged such the couples are seated side by side comfortably on sofa seats. The course meal feels like a journey through different flavours. What i enjoyed: pork and prawn roulade, grilled river prawn, fillet w tamarind sauce, tiger prawn curry, coconut w taro pudding cup What i did not enjoy: eggplant roll (too spicy), stir fried pork basil (too hard to chew) The entire dinner took around 2-3hours, enjoyed my time w my husband in the lovely ambience. Great staff and service too!
A great Michelin level lunch time experience near Sathorn! Service was impeccable from start to finish, food was tasty (great thai fusion) and well presented, as you had at least 4 options to choose from the mains (not to mention that they over delivered with some extra dishes not listed in the set lunch menu). As somebody has said and I can attest it too, is one of the few Michelin rated restaurants that you leave quite full! Highly recommended for anybody wanting to try the local cuisine with a modern luxury flair!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
