R-HAAN
R-HAAN holds two Michelin stars and has established itself as one of Bangkok's most serious addresses for refined Thai cuisine. Located on a quiet soi in the fashionable Thonglor neighbourhood, the restaurant takes a scholarly approach to Thai cooking, presenting seasonal tasting menus that draw on traditional recipes and regional culinary heritage rather than novelty. The kitchen works with considerable depth, producing courses that reflect the full breadth of Thai flavour profiles in a setting that feels both rooted and sophisticated. Visitors consistently describe the experience as an elegant performance from arrival to farewell. The atmosphere is intimate and polished, with attentive service throughout. Standout features include beautifully presented dishes that honour authentic Thai flavours, and a wine pairing programme that has drawn particular praise, with sommeliers matching each course with skill and creativity. The restaurant suits special occasions, milestone celebrations, and food enthusiasts keen to explore Thai cuisine at a serious level. Good to know: R-HAAN opens for dinner only, from 18:00 to 23:00 every night of the week. Given its Michelin recognition and limited seating, advance reservations are strongly recommended and should be secured well ahead of the intended visit, especially on weekends and during peak travel periods. Smart to formal attire is appropriate for the occasion. The restaurant is located a short distance from BTS Thonglor Station, making it accessible from most central Bangkok hotels. Current menus and reservations are available through the official website at r-haan.com.

Visitor Reviews
Tucked away like a culinary jewel box, this Michelin-starred Thai restaurant delivered an experience that felt less like dinner and more like an elegant performance. From the moment we arrived, the service was effortlessly polished without ever feeling stiff or scripted. Every detail was anticipated before we even realised we needed it. With a group of 6 adults, the staff curated a beautiful selection of traditional Thai dishes based on our preferences, spice tolerance, and dietary needs, while also preparing a separate menu for the kids that was just as thoughtfully executed. Each dish arrived like edible artwork. Fragrant, layered, and perfectly balanced, from the citrusy brightness of the tom yum to the rich, slow-building warmth of the curries. The ingredients were undeniably fresh and the presentation was refined yet still deeply rooted in authentic Thai tradition. The cocktails were equally impressive and paired seamlessly with the menu, elevating each course without overpowering the delicate flavours on the plate. Exceptional food, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that makes the entire evening feel truly special. A must-visit for anyone wanting to experience Thai cuisine at its absolute finest. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Thai Fine Dining Experience R-HAAN offers an outstanding fine dining journey that beautifully reflects the depth and wisdom of Thai cuisine. The seasonal tasting menu, Samrub Rospiromy (Flavours of Delight), is thoughtfully curated under the philosophy of The Wisdom of Thai Cuisine, where food is treated not only as nourishment but as cultural heritage. Each course is carefully composed, showcasing high-quality local ingredients from different regions of Thailand. The progression of the meal feels intentional and well-paced, moving from lighter opening dishes to deeper, more complex flavours, before concluding with refined and memorable desserts. The overall experience feels cohesive, balanced, and never overwhelming. Service is professional, attentive, and knowledgeable, with clear explanations that enhance appreciation of each course. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, allowing the food to remain the true focus throughout the meal. R-HAAN is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a meaningful and elevated Thai fine dining experience rooted in tradition, craftsmanship, and respect for ingredients. 📍 R-HAAN, Bangkok 🌟 Michelin-starred Thai cuisine 📅 Advance reservation recommended
All up, a wonderful experience with great food and very clever wine pairings. I visited with a friend 1st December 2025. First up, the team were incredibly kind because they moved my booking at short notice due to my inbound flight being heavily delayed (thank you!). Each of us thought all courses were great with very few exceptions. You will always have a "least favourite " but we didnt think any specific dish was underwhelming. We felt the 2 michellin atar rating was appropriate and deserved. We had the wine pairing and the rieslings were wonderful. Most pairings accentuated the food. Being very picky, the actual wine list was not very long but we are glad in some respects as that led us to the pairing choice. It was a little cool in the room also. Service was great, and we got to speak with both chefs and wait staff equally who were all very attentive and knowledgable. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to experience a fine thai dining meal.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
