K. Panich Sticky Rice
A Bangkok institution since 1947, this unassuming storefront in the historic Phra Nakhon district has earned a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand recognition for its commitment to classic Thai desserts. The shop's mango sticky rice stands apart from the versions found at night markets, with visitors consistently noting the soft, moist texture of the sticky rice and the quality of the sweet, ripe mango — finished with a creamy coconut topping that ties the dish together. The atmosphere is simple and no-frills, reflecting decades of straightforward, quality-focused operation. Beyond mango sticky rice, the shop functions as a dessert and confectionery destination, drawing both locals and tourists who seek out traditional Thai sweets prepared with care. The compact storefront fills up quickly, particularly during peak tourist hours, so arriving earlier in the day tends to mean shorter waits and the best selection. Good to know: K. Panich is open daily except Sunday, from 07:00 to 17:00, making it a practical stop for a late breakfast or midday treat. Mango sticky rice is priced at around 130 THB as of early 2026, keeping it firmly in budget territory. The shop is located on Thanon Tanao, within easy walking distance of landmarks in the Rattanakosin old town area, making it a convenient addition to a day of sightseeing in central Bangkok.

Visitor Reviews
I found this small little shop in Bangkok that serves mango sticky rice, and I’m really glad I stopped by. I originally saw it online, and apparently it’s been getting pretty famous because of the internet, so I was curious to try it for myself. The dessert was simple but really good. It is sweet, ripe mango paired with cold sticky rice that had a nice coconut flavor, plus a crunchy coconut topping on top that added great texture. Everything worked really well together and felt super refreshing. Even though it’s a small spot, it’s definitely worth stopping by. If you’re in Bangkok and love mango sticky rice, I’d say this is kind of an obligated stop.
This place is recognized by The Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand. As of February 2026, their Mango Sticky Rice costs 130THB. Very different from the Mango sticky rice you can buy on night market. Even though the portion is smaller, the taste definitely makes up for it. The mango, the sticky rice, and the coconut sauce all go well together. Upon ordering, they will give you a small ticket if you are not ordering it to go. They have a seating area across the street wherein drinks can be ordered.
First time trying mango sticky rice, so I had to choose one of the best spots in Bangkok and K. Panich did not disappoint. The mango sticky rice was absolutely delicious. The mango was perfectly sweet and ripe, paired beautifully with the creamy coconut milk and the slightly savoury, fragrant sticky rice. The balance of flavours was just spot on. No wonder they’ve been awarded the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand since 2019. Truly a must visit spot in Bangkok ❤️

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
