Getting Around Bangkok
BTS Skytrain & MRT
The fastest and cheapest way to cover the city. A Rabbit Card covers unlimited daily BTS trips and pays back after three journeys. The MRT connects Chinatown, Sukhumvit, and Silom.
Chao Phraya Boat
Orange-flag express boats are the quickest way to the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and Wat Pho — plus far more scenic than the road. Buy a day pass for unlimited rides (฿150).
Grab App
Thailand's Uber equivalent. Use it for all metered taxis to avoid overcharging. GrabCar is usually ฿40–80 cheaper than an un-metered tuk-tuk for longer distances.
Tuk-Tuk
Iconic but overpriced unless you bargain hard. Best used for short hops in the old city where the BTS doesn't reach. Agree a price before you get in — never accept 'fixed price' from a stranger.

Arriving in Bangkok at 2am? Pre-book a transfer
Grab works once you're in the city, but late-night arrivals at Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang can mean 30-minute taxi queues. Booking a Kiwitaxi transfer ahead means your driver is in arrivals with a sign and a fixed quote — code THAILAND5 saves 5%.
