Lucky & Oscar Tailor is a bespoke menswear shop inside the Maitria Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 18, run for more than 20 years by its co-founders Lucky and Ken. They make suits, wedding suits, tuxedos, shirts, trousers, jackets and overcoats to measure, and the fabric books run to thousands of cloths, including Italian mills such as Vitale Barberis Canonico and Drago, with custom linings, horn buttons, ties and pocket squares to finish them.

The shop opens Monday to Saturday from 11:00 to 19:00 and is closed on Sunday. Book a slot through the website or on WhatsApp at +66 81 751 1041 rather than walking in, and if you'd rather not cross Sukhumvit traffic, the tailors will come to your hotel anywhere in Bangkok. If you want a suit made on a trip, I'd go in during your first day or two in the city so there's time for a fitting before you fly home.

It's a sensible pick for grooms planning a wedding in Thailand and for expats building a work wardrobe. Your measurements stay on file, so shirts can be reordered and shipped to you later, and Ken holds trunk shows in Europe and North America for clients who can't get to Bangkok. The Maitria is a walk from BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit.
