Artis Coffee is a roaster café on Sukhumvit Soi 18, a short walk from BTS Asok, MRT Sukhumvit and Terminal 21, and it is the specialty coffee answer for anyone staying in the Asok and Nana hotels. Beans are roasted on site and rested for three days before they are used. The house roasts are arabica grown by hill-tribe farmers in the Golden Triangle, and guest single origins are chalked up on a board for pour-over.
The room is calm and has long been a base for people working on laptops, and the food runs to sandwiches, pastries and scones, which makes it a practical breakfast as much as a coffee stop. The dirty coffee, espresso poured over cold milk, is the drink that gets singled out.
It opens at 07:00 and stays open until 20:00 every day, longer than most specialty cafés in the city, so it also works as an evening stop after Terminal 21. Seats near the outlets go first in the morning.
