Abandoned Mansion
Tucked beneath a hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 14, this cocktail bar and live music venue commits fully to a Prohibition-era gangster aesthetic — moody, theatrical, and genuinely stylish without tipping into self-parody. The result is one of Bangkok's more distinctive nightlife experiences, drawing a crowd that appreciates atmosphere as much as a well-made drink. The cocktail menu is extensive and executed with care, making it a strong choice for visitors who take their drinks seriously. Live music is a regular fixture, with vocalists drawing consistent praise from guests. Food is also served, which means an entire evening can be spent here rather than just a drink or two. Solo travellers tend to feel just as comfortable as groups, helped by staff who are frequently called out by name in guest reviews for their attentiveness. Given the upscale pricing, this suits those willing to invest in a crafted night out rather than a budget stop. Smart-casual dress is the sensible approach — the venue's commitment to its aesthetic means flip-flops and beachwear would feel out of place. No opening hours are currently listed online, so checking recent reviews or reaching out directly before visiting is advisable. The location is easy to reach by BTS, with both Asok and Nana stations within comfortable walking distance.

Visitor Reviews
Tucked beneath a hotel in the very heart of Bangkok, Abandoned Mansion is one of those rare places that feels both effortlessly sophisticated and genuinely welcoming. With its central location, it’s incredibly easy to reach—right in the middle of the city and conveniently accessible via both MRT and BTS. The atmosphere is where this bar truly shines: warm, elegant, and unmistakably jazzy. Live music sets the tone throughout the evening, with performances at 17:00, 21:00, and 00:00, making it an ideal spot whether you’re starting the night early or settling in for a late, lingering session. The cocktail program is excellent and thoughtfully executed. Absolute must-tries include the Negroni, Espresso Martini, Benjamin, and Vesper Martini—each one balanced, refined, and clearly crafted with intention. What elevated the experience even further was the service. The bartender who looked after me all night, Mus, was an absolute highlight. She’s funny, has a great sense of humor, and—most importantly—has impressive knowledge of mixology. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her personality added a relaxed, personal touch that made the evening feel special rather than transactional. All in all, Abandoned Mansion is a standout cocktail bar in Bangkok: stylish without being pretentious, lively without being loud, and warm in a way that invites you to stay longer than planned. A place I’d happily return to again and again. 🍸✨
Abandoned Mansion absolutely nails the prohibition era gangster vibe. They don’t just hint at it, they fully commit and it works. The drinks are the star of the show. Huge menu and every cocktail comes out with its own presentation, different glasses, props, the whole thing. It actually feels like you’re ordering an experience, not just a drink. Some of my favorites were the Joe Batters, John Dillinger, Bugsy Siegel and the Gangsters Shipwreck. The girls loved the Ma Barker and the George and Kathryn. They’ve got live jazz and blues every night and the talent is legit. Not background noise, real performances that add to the whole atmosphere. Food is decent, nothing special, but honestly that’s not why you’re going. This place is about the drinks, the vibe, and the music. Make a reservation because it fills up. Also worth checking out the Gangster’s Cigar Room upstairs overlooking the main floor and stage. Great view and a welcome addition for smokers. If you’re into themed spots done right, this is one of the best in Bangkok.
I recently visited Abandoned Mansion Bangkok and had such a memorable experience. The atmosphere is mysterious yet stylish, with unique décor that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a hidden vintage world. The music was amazing and created the perfect vibe for the night. What truly made the visit special was the excellent service from a staff member named Ain—she was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Her warm smile and professionalism really elevated the whole experience. I would definitely come back again!

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
