Why go, and how to do it well
The view does the heavy lifting here, and it earns it. Open air, 360 degrees of Bangkok, and a sunset slot that people plan their whole evening around. The sensible approach is dinner on the 45th floor and then up to the 49th for drinks, where a DJ takes over as the light goes. Cocktails come carefully made and carefully presented, and the food goes past bar snacks, with burrata with cherry tomatoes, a double smash burger with crisp fries and a couple of dips.
The catch is the 1,800 baht per person minimum spend. That's not a hidden charge, but it does mean this isn't somewhere to drop in for one drink. Budget for a proper round and something to eat and it stops stinging. Service gets a lot of praise, though a few people have waited a long time to get the bill at the end of the night, so flag it early if you have somewhere to be.

We had an absolutely wonderful evening at Octave. The highlight was definitely the sunset views—they are simply indescribable and easily some of the best in Bangkok. For our meal, we both had the Double Smash Burger with cheese, served with perfectly crispy French fries and two different types of dips. The burgers were delicious and highly recommended! We also enjoyed a round of cocktails (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), which were expertly crafted. One thing to keep in mind regarding the pricing structure: even if you are dining at the restaurant, there is a separate entry fee for the rooftop bar area. It is 600 THB (which includes a beer or a glass of Prosecco) or 650 THB if you prefer a cocktail. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and a magical atmosphere. We would definitely come back!
Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar is an incredible rooftop spot, offering a stunning sunset and exceptional drinks. It’s one of the best places in Bangkok to watch the sun go down right in the heart of the city, surrounded by beautiful buildings and an impressive skyline. The cocktails are not only delicious but also beautifully presented. I truly enjoyed the entire experience and highly recommend it.
Nice rooftop bar in Bangkok with a great vibe and beautiful city views. Minimun spending 1800 bath each person. I tried the burrata with cherry tomatoes and it was really fresh and tasty. Drinks were well made and overall the atmosphere is great. That said, the staff was a bit distracted when it came to service at the end: when I asked for the bill, it took around 40 minutes and multiple requests before it arrived, which was frustrating. If you want to visit I recommend reserving in advance, especially if you want a good table with comfortable sit.
