YABAR Secret Bar & Rooftop
Tucked down a small alley just off Khaosan Road in Bangkok's historic Phra Nakhon district, this venue delivers a genuinely surprising experience. What begins on the ground floor as a speakeasy-style entrance — guests are encouraged to "follow the white rabbit" — opens up into a multi-level bar that climbs to a rooftop with city views. The journey through the floors is part of the appeal, with different areas and atmospheres to discover along the way. Visitors can expect creative, well-crafted cocktails, a lively social atmosphere, and food that goes beyond typical bar snacks — the crocodile pizza has become something of a talking point among regulars. The staff draw consistent praise for their warmth and enthusiasm, contributing strongly to the venue's reputation. The overall vibe lands somewhere between playful and polished, with an 80s-inflected rooftop setting that keeps things fun without taking itself too seriously. Good to know: YABAR opens at 6:30 PM every day of the week and stays open until 2:00 AM, giving flexibility for both early evening drinks and late-night sessions. Arriving closer to opening time is a smart move for those who want a quieter experience and easier access to the rooftop before crowds build. The venue is within walking distance of Khaosan Road, making it a natural addition to a night out in the area. Smart casual dress fits the atmosphere well.

Visitor Reviews
What an ABSOLUTE gem! In a great part of Bangkok, but honestly I cannot overstate how wonderful their staff were. Not only were these some of the best (and funnest) cocktails I have ever had, but the barman was so knowledgeable and helpful - fixing us up exciting options that accommodated all my teams tastes. And just the quirkiness, sweetest decor (the slide is both fun and perilious). The. Best.
I visited many speakeasys in my travels and this is honestly one of the best. From the moment you step in on the first floor, you are greeted with many levels of interesting ways to reach the rooftop. The drinks are delicious and a lot of fun. The ambiance is great and they even have a slide... I'll let you figure out where it is.
Great rooftop bar hidden away just off Khaosan Road. The staff here are really friendly and the place has an amazing vibe. Very fun, with different areas to explore and play whilst enjoying a great selection of cocktails.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
