Olive Kitchen - Khaosan
Tucked into the heart of Khaosan Road, Olive Kitchen stands out in Bangkok's most iconic backpacker district by offering far more than standard tourist fare. The menu spans authentic Thai dishes, Thai fusion cooking, wood-fired style pizza, and a ground-floor bakery — an unusually broad range that keeps repeat visitors returning throughout their stay. A thoughtful wine list and cocktail menu round out the offering, making it equally suitable for a relaxed breakfast or a proper dinner with drinks. The atmosphere is casual yet a step above the surrounding street-food scene, with friendly staff frequently noted by diners. Standout dishes include salmon with yellow curry, stir-fried chicken with spaghetti in red curry sauce, and mango panna cotta — a mix that reflects the kitchen's confident blending of Thai and Western influences. The bakery on the first floor adds a practical option for travellers wanting a lighter start to the day. Good to know: Olive Kitchen opens daily from 8:30 AM to 11:30 PM, which makes it one of the more flexible dining options in the neighbourhood for early risers and late-night diners alike. Given its popularity and the consistently high foot traffic along Khaosan Road, arriving during the late morning or mid-afternoon window reduces the likelihood of a wait for seating. The Facebook page listed on their profile is the best place to check for any updated menus or seasonal specials before visiting.

Visitor Reviews
Visited for a late lunch. We tried salmon with yellow curry and stir fried chicken with spaghetti and red curry sauce. We ended the lunch with mango panna cotta. The restaurant has a great variety of dishes - from traditional dishes and breakfast on sourdough bread to pasta and pizza. All is home made (including the pasta and sourdough pizzas) and fresh. The team are so friendly and welcoming - happy to help you with your choices. You can also have a look at their own bakery on the second floor and see how they make their sourdough products. We had a great time and are very grateful we found this place - definitely one to add to your stop when visiting Bangkok. Thank you so much to the team for looking after us ❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Outstanding Food & Excellent Service We visited Olive Kitchen – Khaosan and were genuinely blown away. The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish looked incredible and tasted even better. You can tell a lot of care goes into the presentation as well as the flavours. The service was equally excellent. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Everything came out fresh, hot, and perfectly prepared. If you’re around Khaosan and want top-quality food with great service, Olive Kitchen is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended! 🙌🍽️
Lovely restaurant with a great selection of wine in Khaosan. The food was excellent and very tasty 😋 The staff were lovely and friendly 🤩 We went there for our dinner and also for our breakfast 😊 I love the homemade salami, ham, sausage and bread 🥖💕 Only tiny problem was the seats (chairs) were to hard to sit in for long time which I believe it would be fabulous if the restaurant have chair cushions to afford the customers:) , and some of the tables are quite low, make it a bit difficult to sit and enjoy the food but for the drinks are fine 🙂

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
