Bangkok Jazz BBQ and Bar
Tucked into Soi Ram Buttri just a short walk from Khao San Road, this bar brings a playful, social energy to Bangkok's well-trodden backpacker strip. Visitors come for the relaxed atmosphere, affordable drinks, and the kind of friendly staff that make a casual stop turn into a longer stay. The two-for-one beer special is a popular draw, and the in-house games — including a shooting stand — give it a more interactive feel than a typical neighbourhood bar. The venue draws a mixed crowd of travellers and locals, and staff are consistently noted for being welcoming and attentive. The setting has a warm, easygoing vibe that suits solo travellers, couples, and groups alike. It sits in a part of the city that stays lively well into the night, surrounded by guesthouses, street food, and other bars, making it a natural anchor point for an evening out in Phra Nakhon. Good to know: The bar is located in a busy pedestrian area that gets crowded on weekends, so arriving earlier in the evening generally means a better pick of seating and a quieter chance to get to know the staff before the street fills up. No booking information is available, so walk-ins appear to be the norm.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
