MBK CENTER

4.5(63,657 reviews)

Forget the polished luxury malls for an afternoon. This is a market that happens to have air conditioning: over 2,000 small shops stacked floor on floor, selling phones, cases, souvenirs, jewellery, clothes and things you didn't know you wanted. Whole floors are given over to a single theme, so electronics sit together, fashion sits together, and there's a level for salons and massage. People find a post office in there. That's the scale of the place.

It's for browsers and hagglers. If you want fixed prices and quiet, you'll hate it. If you enjoy circling three stalls to compare the same item, you'll lose several hours happily. The tailors are a genuine draw, and reviewers mention fast turnarounds on suits and shirts delivered to hotels, though I'd agree terms in writing before handing over money. On electronics and anything expensive, check the item properly and compare a few vendors first. Quality varies stall to stall.

MBK Center is one of Bangkok’s most well-known shopping malls, popular with both locals and tourists. It offers a huge variety of products and services all under one roof. Inside MBK Center, you can find: Clothing, fashion, and accessories Mobile phones, gadgets, and electronics Souvenirs and gifts Beauty products and personal care Food courts, cafés, and restaurants Services such as salons, repairs, and travel agents The mall is spacious and well organized, with many floors to explore. Prices range from budget-friendly stalls to more specialized shops, giving shoppers a lot of options. MBK Center is also conveniently located near National Stadium BTS Station, making it easy to get there by public transport. Overall, MBK Center is a great destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment, combining a classic Bangkok market vibe with a modern mall experience. 🛍️🍜📱

My husband and I enjoyed shopping there. It was very different from other malls and we loved it. It was really close to BTS station and found really good deals. My husband purchased 2 sets of custom order made suite and also 3 dress shirts. We hesitated to do that but they told us that they could finish them and deliver to our hotel by midnight which was only 9 hours to work on. My husband was so happy to receive them the morning of our departure and satisfied with quality too. We were so glad that we went there on last day of our trip to South Asia.

MBK Center is probably one of the most diverse malls I’ve visited. It has a completely different vibe compared to modern luxury malls — this place is packed with hundreds of small shops selling just about everything you can think of. From clothing and accessories to electronics, souvenirs, and unique little finds, there’s always something interesting to browse. It’s a great spot if you enjoy exploring and hunting for deals. The variety is huge, and you can easily spend hours walking around without getting bored. If you’re into bargain shopping and don’t mind digging through smaller independent stalls, this is definitely your jam. Just be ready to negotiate and compare prices — that’s part of the experience! Overall, MBK is lively, affordable, and full of character — a must-visit if you’re in Bangkok and want something different from the typical high-end mall scene.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls

Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.

Arrive Early or Late

Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.

Be Cautious with Tailors

Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
