Lao Khan (Tiger Vibe) Wine Bar & Eatery
Tucked along Phaholyothin Road near Chiang Rai's night market, Lao Khan (Tiger Vibe) Wine Bar & Eatery draws in both wandering travellers and locals looking for a relaxed evening out. The bar earns its name with a mellow but energetic atmosphere, backed by music — sometimes live — and a drinks list that leans into wine and cocktails. It's the kind of place that surprises visitors who stumble in without expectations. The food menu covers Western-leaning dishes, with the beef steak drawing particular praise from guests. Cocktails are a highlight, and the staff have been noted for small touches of hospitality, including keeping mosquito spray on hand — a genuinely appreciated detail in this part of Thailand. The wine selection is decent for the region, though a few visitors note the pricing sits slightly above the local average. Food quality appears to be somewhat inconsistent based on visitor feedback, so drinks and atmosphere may be the stronger draw. Lao Khan opens daily at 17:00 and stays open until midnight, making it a natural stop for pre- or post-dinner drinks. The venue tends to be quieter in the early evening, which suits those who prefer a calmer atmosphere. Checking the Facebook page before visiting is worthwhile, as it is the primary channel for updates on live music nights and any changes to the programme.

Visitor Reviews
Such a great place, lovely cocktails, delicious food, friendly staff they give us mosquitoes spray , make me drink upon my request out of menu... and prices are not very high. Definitely recommending
GOOD FRIENDLY WINE-Restaurant! Live Musik, good Atmosphäre! Food Looks delicius! Just Had a Wine
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much since we just randomly wandered into this bar/restaurant after walking from the night market nearby. Beef steak is surprisingly good with some decent wine selection. Not too pricey and the singer for the live music has a good voice. Recommended.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
