Sunset Bar
Perched with views over Pai's surrounding mountains, this bar draws visitors for its relaxed daytime atmosphere and scenic sunset watching from its upper floor. The venue hosts fire shows and occasional ticketed DJ nights, making it a flexible spot whether the goal is a quiet afternoon drink or a livelier evening out. Staff are noted for being helpful, and the mountain backdrop is a genuine highlight for those who time their visit right. Atmosphere-wise, the vibe leans casual and bohemian, fitting Pai's broader character. It opens at 11:00 AM daily and runs through to 2:00 AM, which makes it equally suited for afternoon lounging as for late nights. Visitors looking for non-alcoholic options may find the menu limited in that regard. Good to know: When ticketed DJ events are on, entry fees around 400 baht have drawn mixed reactions from visitors, with several noting that the music did not match advertised genres like tech house. If a specific event is the draw, it is worth managing expectations accordingly. For those simply after the views, the fire show, and a relaxed drink, visiting on a regular evening without a ticketed event is likely the more reliable experience. As there is no website, checking in person or asking around Pai is the best way to find out what is on any given night.

Visitor Reviews
Many evenings spent in sunset bar while in Pai! Very cool spot with great staff they are very helpful and have all the goods ! Beautiful view of the sunset over the mountains from the top floor of the bar too. Also a sociable and friendly spot to meet people or hang out
Really serene place to spend the afternoon (or any other time of the day) at. The mountains view is beautiful. We also attended the fire show that was really cool. I just wish they had more non-alcoholic drinks.
400 baht for entry to the “tech house rave”. It was ok at best. The dj mostly played pop and mainstream stuff but it was far from anything tech house. Its a cool enough venue but nothing near 400 bahts for entry and i highly recommend checking out the bars around the walking street if youre in pai for just a few days.

Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
