75 Anniversary Flag and Lamp Park
This public park in central Chiang Rai is a modest green space year-round, but transforms dramatically during the annual flower festival held each January, when the grounds fill with a dense sea of blooms in every colour, free of charge. The festival draws repeat visitors and is widely regarded as the park's standout experience, featuring small food stalls, live music, and an artificial waterfall that adds to the festive atmosphere. Outside of festival season, the park serves as a casual local gathering spot, with notable tree roots and stone walls that have developed an organic character over time, and an open area that doubles as a concert venue. Visitors should be aware that the park's appeal varies significantly depending on the time of year. Outside the flower festival period, some visitors find the space underwhelming, describing it as quiet and somewhat underutilised given its size. The surrounding buildings can feel imposing relative to the park's footprint. That said, its central location in Mueang Chiang Rai makes it an easy addition to a broader day out in the city. Good to know: If visiting specifically for the flowers, plan a trip in January to coincide with the flower festival. The park opens daily at 6 AM, with Saturday hours extending to 11 PM, making evening visits possible when temperatures are cooler. Without the festival, it works best as a brief stop rather than a dedicated outing.

Visitor Reviews
We found the park here to be wonderful, it was by the water and the layout of the flowers were perfect. Some of the flowers were starting to die which is fair enough as the season may be coming to an end and the flower festival is ending too, We still loved walking around seeing the sculptures and flowers, there is a small park here for kids also and it’s an easy paved walk so all can enjoy. “Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
