GRAND SPA แกรนด์สปา
Located on Phaholyothin Road in central Chiang Rai, this well-regarded spa draws a consistent stream of both travellers and locals seeking quality therapeutic treatments. The menu spans traditional Thai massage, oil massage, body scrubs, and CBD oil massage, with therapists known for attentive technique and the ability to adjust pressure to individual preference. The clean, relaxed atmosphere and warm hospitality from staff — including a welcoming intake process where guests can indicate focus areas and areas to avoid — set a professional yet personal tone from the moment of arrival. Visitors regularly highlight the combination of skilled treatment and thoughtful touches such as complimentary tea served before or after sessions. Walk-ins are accepted and have reported prompt service even during evening hours, though the popularity of the spa means booking ahead is advisable during Chiang Rai's busy season from November through February. Treatment packages combining multiple services, such as body scrub followed by oil massage, represent a popular choice for those wanting a more comprehensive experience. The spa operates seven days a week from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, making it a practical option for travellers with full daytime itineraries who prefer an evening appointment. The central location on Phaholyothin Road is easily reachable by songthaew, tuk-tuk, or a short taxi ride from most accommodation in the city. Comfortable, loose clothing is suitable for arrival, as spa attire is provided on site.

Visitor Reviews
I had a Thai massage with CBD oil at the Grand Spa and it was absolutely incredible. A deeply relaxing experience with excellent technique and perfectly adjusted pressure throughout the session. The CBD oil truly made a difference, helping to release muscle tension and providing a long-lasting sense of physical and mental calm. The environment is quiet, clean, and welcoming, with a genuine focus on well-being. The therapist was highly professional, attentive, and respectful, demonstrating great skill and care. One of the best massages I’ve had in Thailand — worth every minute. Highly recommended for anyone looking for deep relaxation and recovery.
Amazing place, I got 90 minutes option with body scrub and then oil massage, it was really great experience. Service is excellent, spa manager and her hospitality is top! She gave me form to fill to make an interview before massage, I could smell and pick scrub that I want and oil, I felt really taken care of. Therapist was very skilled and she worked on points that needed it the most, after all I got tea and cookie to relax the last minutes there. I recommend this place!
I truly enjoyed the massage. It was perfectly gentle, exactly as I had requested, and the therapist was professional and respectful. I felt deeply relaxed throughout the entire session. The receptionist was also very kind and welcoming throughout my visit. Really good tea🫶🏼

Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
