หลง 龍 เชียงราย
Tucked along Soi Thai Viwat in the heart of Chiang Rai's Wiang district, this bar and pub draws a young, trendy Thai crowd looking for a genuine local night out. Live music is a regular feature, ranging from older Thai classics to contemporary sounds, giving the venue a lively, communal energy that sets it apart from the more tourist-facing bars in the city. It has earned a reputation as a spot where the atmosphere feels authentically local rather than catered to foreign visitors. Guests can expect a fun, relaxed setting where the drinks flow and the music does the talking. The vibe skews younger and social, making it a great option for travellers who want to experience Chiang Rai's nightlife scene alongside locals rather than in a bubble. Weeknight visits have drawn positive reactions from those who stumbled upon it without prior plans, suggesting the energy holds up even outside the weekend rush. Good to know: this bar appears to attract a predominantly Thai clientele, with very few foreign visitors on a typical night. Travellers who appreciate that dynamic will likely enjoy it more. No website or booking information is currently available, so visiting in person is the way to go. Check ahead locally for live music nights, as the schedule may vary.

Visitor Reviews
Came here on a whim on a Tuesday night in early April and loved the younger, trendy vibe and live music. As a foreigner, I respect that this bar felt like a bar for young Thai folks to enjoy. Thank you for allowing us into your space! 5 stars all around! Got two beers with ice for around 300b.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
