Scorpions Tours
Scorpions Tours operates from a central location on Phaholyothin Road in Chiang Rai, running guided day tours that cover seven major sites in and around the region. Reviewers consistently highlight the knowledgeable, engaging guides and the small group sizes — typically around eight participants — which allow for a more personalised experience and plenty of opportunity for questions. Beyond the standard sightseeing circuit, the company also offers jungle tours through mountain villages, complete with bamboo-cooked lunches in nature and stops at waterfalls, as well as early-morning transfers to sunrise viewpoints such as Phu Chi Fa. Tours typically run from around 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM for full-day itineraries, though the office is open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, giving travellers flexibility to enquire or book on short notice. Drivers and guides are frequently praised by name in reviews for their professionalism and warmth, and private transfers with early pick-up times are available for those chasing dawn departures. Good to know: Scorpions Tours manages bookings through their Facebook page, so reaching out in advance is recommended, particularly during peak season when popular tours fill quickly. Confirming group size, itinerary details, and pick-up arrangements before the day ensures a smoother experience.

Visitor Reviews
Today we had an absolutely wonderful tour lasting almost 9 hours! We saw so much thanks to our wonderful Guide Yok and Bus Driver Tom Cruise 🥳! They are a Great Team. Yok was excellent and explained everything clearly and methodically to our group of 9 people. We visited the following 7 Must See’s today! The Amazing White Temple; Blue Temple 🥰; Black House; Longneck Karen ladies & village 🥰; Tea Plantation for tea tasting; The Golden Triangle….and finally we visited the Opium Museum before returning back to Chiang Rai 😇! We also enjoyed a fabulous Buffet at 12 Noon (included in the price)! Yok kept us safe and was clear about being punctual as a group. I would highly recommend Scorpion Tours and especially I would recommend Yok and TC the famous Driver! Yok was so kind and friendly and above all she had great knowledge and information about our 7 stops today. Thank you Yok for a wonderful day. All the best. Sandra from Ireland ☘️…..
Wonderful full day tour (8 am - 6 pm) with guide Yok and driver Black covering 7 major sites in/around Chiang Rai. Only 8 participants on tour so we were able to be efficient and ask lots of questions. Yok managed our time well so we didn't feel rushed. Driver was safe. White Temple and Blue Temple were more beautiful in person than in pictures. Long neck Karen village can feel very touristy but Yok did a good job of explaining their culture & traditions and helping us connect with locals so it felt a bit more authentic. Tea plantation was peaceful and beautiful. Opium Museum was surprisingly informative. Thank you for the great memories! Tips: prepare about 650 THB in cash for all the admission fees (White Temple is now 200 THB for foreigners, Black House Museum 80 THB, Karen village 300 THB, Opium Museum 50 THB). Also message Scorpion Tours on Whatsapp to book instead of using TripAdvisor or other platforms to get the best price!
Amazing trip seeing 7 major sights of Chiang Rai and the surrounding areas. Mew our tour guide was just wonderful and so knowledgable keeping us informed throughout, our driver Tom Cruise (iykyk) looked after us so well and the van was driven very safely and super comfy. It’s a long day but you’re well looked after from start to finish with water available and opportunities throughout for the loo / to replenish. It was a fantastic way to see as much as possible without feeling too rushed, as I had limited time in Chiang Rai, I was also able to book the day before at short notice, so overall top experience and would highly recommend.

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
