Malika is Kalima Resort's open-air sky bar, high on the hillside on Phrabaramee Road at the north end of Patong, looking straight down over the bay. It's built around a circular bar with a wine cellar and live music, and it does dinner as well as drinks, Thai and international, which is more useful than it sounds in a town where most rooftops push you toward one or the other.
On the menu the resort links from its page, cocktails are ฿320, beers ฿150 to ฿190 and wine ฿260 a glass, with 10% service and 7% VAT added on top. That's high for Patong and normal for a resort rooftop. The view is what you're paying for.
Timing is everything. It opens at 17:30 and the resort lists closing as midnight, so be in your seat at opening. Sunset in Phuket falls between about 18:05 and 18:50 depending on the month, which means you get the bay in daylight, the sunset and the lights of Patong coming on in one sitting. Book through the Kalima Resort site in high season, November to April, when the sunset tables go first. Smart casual is the safe choice.
