KIRI Hotel Chiang Mai

4.5(268 reviews)

Sitting on a quiet lane off Moonmuang Road in Chiang Mai's historic Old City, KIRI Hotel places guests within easy walking distance of the city's most visited temples, the Sunday Walking Street, night markets, and a strong selection of local restaurants and bars. The central position inside the old city walls makes it a practical base for travellers who prefer to explore on foot rather than relying on transport for everyday sightseeing. Guests consistently highlight the staff as a standout feature, describing them as genuinely warm, attentive, and helpful throughout their stays. Rooms are noted for being clean, modern, and well-equipped, with thoughtful touches such as ample tea and coffee supplies. The lane setting offers a quieter feel compared to the main roads nearby, while keeping the energy of the Old City close at hand. The overall atmosphere leans comfortable and welcoming rather than flashy, suiting travellers who want reliability without fuss. Good to know: Chiang Mai's peak season runs from November through February, when cooler temperatures and clear skies make exploring on foot particularly enjoyable. During this period the city is busiest and accommodation fills quickly, so booking well in advance is advisable. For current room rates, availability, and any seasonal packages, check directly through the hotel's website at kiri-hotel.com, as pricing varies throughout the year.

Visitor Reviews

We just had the most lovely four night stay at Chiang Mai Kiri Hotel and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. The hotel is in a fantastic location within the Old Town, meaning many temples, cafés, and attractions are within walking distance. There are other livelier areas in Chiang Mai, so we did use taxis occasionally, but getting around was easy and convenient. Breakfast is not included as standard, however you can pay an additional 250 Thai baht per person and it is absolutely worth it. The breakfast was exceptional value for money. You order from a menu and can choose as many dishes as you like for that price, with a great variety of options available. We did not find it expensive at all for the quality and amount of food provided. The staff at reception were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always happy to help with anything we needed, which made our stay even more enjoyable. It was also lovely to have a pool to cool off in. The only slight downside was that the sunbeds are mostly shaded and there are only around six of them, so it can be difficult to get a bed during hotter, busier times. If you are specifically looking for a hotel where you can spend all day relaxing in the sun by the pool, this may not be the ideal choice. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

I stayed at Kiri for my last four nights in Chiang Mai, and what stood out the most was how “genuinely kind and cheerful the staff were.” They always greeted me with bright smiles whenever I came and went, and even a small issue—such as the next room playing loud music late at night—was handled professionally. Front staff, Siri and Lipton truly left an impression. Although I didn’t actually swim, the pool was very clean and well maintained. Just sitting by it felt refreshing. While relaxing on a sunbed, I could see the housekeeping staff meticulously cleaning even the window frames, which really showed their attention to detail. The bathroom layout wasn’t my personal favorite, but the hotel’s location made up for it, and overall I was very satisfied. Lastly, the breakfast area has a great view, which made mornings even more enjoyable. (+tasty)

We had a lovely 3-night stay at the KIRI hotel. The hotel is in a great location - only a short distance from the night market, popular restaurants & bars. The staff were always so friendly and helpful too. Our room was very clean and modern (the only downside would be that there was no real storage space, but we were happy living out of our suitcases)! Highly recommend⭐️

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts

Book Shoulder Season

May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates

Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive

Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
