Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.

Why go, and how to do it well
The Michelin recommendation is what brings most people here, and it's worth knowing it dates to 2023. What you get today is decent mid-range Thai beside the Ping River, with generous portions and a genuinely calm setting when the coaches aren't in. Reviewers rate the red snail curry for its depth of flavor. The fried squid draws the opposite reaction, chewy and underseasoned. One diner noted a whole table of dishes, fish included, arriving within ten minutes, which tells you something about how the kitchen handles volume.
So my advice is to treat it as a pleasant riverside lunch or dinner rather than a pilgrimage. Prices run higher than the neighborhood places nearby, and service is efficient rather than warm. Live music helps in the evenings. Large tour groups are common, sometimes dozens of people at once, so if you want a quiet meal aim for the edges of the lunch and dinner rushes rather than the middle.

Reviews from Google
The food is delicious and full of authentic Thai flavors. Portion sizes are very generous and satisfying. The atmosphere is calm, peaceful, and very pleasant, with a beautiful riverside setting along the Ping River. A great place to enjoy a relaxed and high-quality Thai meal.
I had higher expectations for a place that has Michelin star rated plates. I had the red snail curry which was very tasty and flavorful whereas the fried squid was quite chewy and bland. I thought the prices were very high compared to other local restaurants. The service was just ok... not a whole lot of engagement or interaction. One of the benefits was that there was some live music which made the atmosphere a bit better. Overall, it was an ok experience.
The food is decent but really it's just average for Thailand. I'm not surprised the last Michelin recommendation is from 2023. They've milked the Michelin rec as much as they could and are now selling snacks and whatever they can. We ordered fish (usually takes at least 20min), soup and some other dishes and we're surprised that everything was on the table within 5-10min. They've maximized efficiency over the freshness, as the fish was definitely pre-fried and then kept warm. Everything was good but nothing special. The coconut shake was too sweet. The service was efficient again, but lackluster. Good parking if you have a car. Would I come back? No.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
Use Grab for Delivery
The Grab app works for food delivery across Thailand, letting you order from street stalls and restaurants alike. It's invaluable on rainy days or when you want to eat in your hotel.
