Hey Bar @chiangmai
Tucked along Rachaviti Road in central Chiang Mai, Hey Bar operates as a cafe-bar and live music venue that has carved out a reputation for getting the balance right — lively enough to make for a good night out, unhurried enough to actually enjoy it. The crowd tends to be easygoing, the music sets a fitting backdrop rather than overwhelming conversation, and the staff consistently stand out as a genuine part of what makes the place work. It draws a mix of solo travelers, couples, and small groups, and holds up equally well for a quiet drink or a more social evening. Visitors have highlighted the relaxed, cozy atmosphere as the bar's defining quality, with the Frozen Peach Crush cocktail earning specific praise among the drinks on offer. The venue also functions as an event space, making it a worthwhile stop during holidays or local events — past New Year celebrations have been particularly well-received by guests. Good to know: It is worth checking locally before making the trip or simply arriving during standard evening hours. The Rachaviti Road location sits within Chiang Mai's central Muang district, making it easy to reach on foot or by tuk-tuk from most downtown accommodation. Casual dress is perfectly appropriate, and the intimate setting means it can fill up on weekends or during peak travel periods, so arriving a little earlier in the evening is a practical move.

Reviews from Google
We spent two wonderful days in this bar and enjoyed every minute. Unfortunately, today is already our last evening, as we are heading to Chiang Rai tomorrow. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and contributed to the great atmosphere. I can highly recommend this bar to everyone! If I ever come back to Chiang Mai, a visit there will definitely be at the top of my list.
Hey cafe/bar is very nice, cozy, and has a good relaxing vibe. If you are looking for a cozy bar, not too hectic where you can enjoy a drink with your date or some close friends, I highly recommend! Drinks, food, and the service all were fantastic there! Highly recommend Frozen Peach crush cocktail!! 🍹
Great atmosphere and staff. The Frozen Peach Crush cocktail was delish. Highly recommend this bar. :)

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
