Central Chiangmai Airport
Claimed to be the largest shopping and entertainment complex in northern Thailand, this sprawling multi-level mall draws around six million visitors annually and serves as a practical anchor point for travellers moving through Chiang Mai International Airport. The complex combines mainstream retail, international brands, fashion, electronics, and health and beauty outlets across several themed floors, with a Michelin-recognised food court offering a wide range of Thai and international options at accessible price points. A Tops supermarket occupies the ground floor, making it useful for everyday needs alongside leisure shopping. The immediate surroundings add further value: neighbouring the mall are Go Wholesale, which operates similarly to a large-format superstore, and the Chiang Mai Hall factory outlet, creating a compact cluster for both everyday shopping and bargain hunting. The layout across multiple floors gives it a familiar big-city mall feel, comparable in scale and organisation to major Bangkok complexes. A practical detail worth knowing: a free shuttle service runs between the mall and the airport terminal, making it straightforward to combine a last-minute shopping run with a departure. Weekend hours begin earlier at 10:00, while weekday doors open at 11:00, with the mall closing at 21:00 daily. Travellers with an early hotel checkout and time to spare before a flight will find this a genuinely useful stop rather than a detour.

Visitor Reviews
Central Chiangmai Airport. The layout reminds me of central one in Bkk. Its a very big supermall. The floors are kinda themed: ground floor: tops and food court. 2nd floor: clinical stuff. 3rd floor: banking,… In general a very nice and well maintained mall. You will find everything you need in there. There is an adidas Store, Nike Factory Outlet with super deals, and many many more. Definitely worth a visit, tho i like Central Festival more, it seems more easy to navigate.
A great place for last minute shopping and to kill time before your flight. The mall is big. It is also next to Go Wholesale (something like Carrefour) and a factory sale Chiang Mai Hall. The mall has a big cinema and a very large food court as well. Spent any amount of money and you are entitled to take free shuttle to the Chiang Mai Airport, departing at 15 minutes level. The shuttle stop is at Exit 3G. The mall also has a large children kids playground.
Great mall next to the airport. If you are checking out hotels early and need to waste time until you depart, it's worth a visit. There is a shuttle near the airport that takes you for a minimal charge. Also, the mall has free transportation back to the terminal, just save any receipts from any shop/restaurant from the mall and they will transport you back for free. Mall itself is great, new, again, worth going to if you are near the airport.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
