Sapaiya Spa
Nestled in the laid-back hillside town of Pai in Mae Hong Son Province, this well-regarded spa has built a strong reputation among travellers seeking genuine relaxation and skilled therapeutic treatments. The interior is described by visitors as beautiful and well-maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the unhurried character of Pai itself. Sapaiya specialises in traditional Thai massage alongside a range of bodywork and oil-based treatments, including CBD and aroma oil massage. Visitors consistently highlight the professionalism of the therapists, with several noting that treatments effectively relieved physical tension and muscle pain. After each session, guests are served tea and snacks — a small but appreciated detail that adds to the overall experience. The spa is suited to travellers winding down after trekking or sightseeing, as well as those simply looking to make wellness a focus of their time in Pai. Good to know: Sapaiya is open every day from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, which offers good flexibility for fitting a treatment around a busy itinerary. Pai draws significant visitor numbers between November and February during the cool season, so booking ahead during this period is advisable to secure a preferred time slot or therapist. Prices are noted by some visitors as slightly higher than typical Pai rates, though the quality and setting are generally considered good value for the standard of treatment received.

Visitor Reviews
We tried the CBD and aroma oil massage and both were really good. Highly professional. Would highly recommend the CBD balm which leaves a lingering relaxing feeling.
I visited this spa 2x in the week I was in Pai. First time was my birthday and the treatment was one fit for royalty! It was absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed a 60 min Thai Massage and a 30 min facial cleansing massage. Top notch! They greet you with warm ginger tea and a cold soft wash cloth to freshen up yourself. Then after the treatment you get a moment to integrate with water, fresh fruit, snacks and ginger tea. The second treatment was a real 2 hour Thai massage and it was also absolutely wonderful. My husband also got a 2 hr Thai and he agrees - best massages of our lives. 10/10 recommend
This place is wonderful. Professional staff, well kept and beautiful interior, plus amazing tea and snacks after your treatment. I did a 90minute Thai massage with Lek and it was incredible. She worked out so much tension in my shoulders, my body felt amazing by the end of it. I went back as many times as I could while in Pai. I can’t recommend Lek enough, she was so skilled!

Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
