Saeng Thong Market
Tucked into the heart of Pai, this daily fresh market is a genuine local shopping hub rather than a tourist attraction, drawing residents and visitors alike with its wide selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, refrigerated and frozen meats, and ready-to-eat street food. Prices are notably low — reviewers highlight avocados at 40 baht — and the wholesale-style sourcing suggests this is where many local vendors stock up themselves, keeping quality high and costs down. The atmosphere is lively and unpretentious, with colourful produce stalls, friendly vendors happy to assist, and a steady flow of morning shoppers. Standout food options include a takeaway khao soi stall near the coffee stand, along with other snacks and light meals ideal for breakfast or lunch. Most vegetables are sold by weight rather than individually, so it helps to have a rough idea of quantities before browsing. Good to know: The market opens daily at 6:00 AM and runs until 6:00 PM, but mornings offer the freshest selection and the most authentic local energy. Bring small denomination cash, as card payments are unlikely to be accepted at most stalls. Comfortable shoes are practical for navigating the busy aisles.

Awesome local market filled with fresh meats, fruits, vegetables as well as many street food options. Prices were good and not too touristy.
Find the lady selling takeaway khao soi next to the coffee stand and thank me later ! Best place to grab things for lunch.
You can find all the fruits or vegetables here and prices are same as anywhere else My goto was the grandma at the front in the middle row The second vendors of the first row have most of the vegetables, some in fridge celery for example After 3pm in front of the market they setup the local food stands

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
