Gaifa Massage

5.0(119 reviews)

Tucked into the relaxed mountain town of Pai, this small massage studio has built a strong reputation around the skill and warmth of its practitioners, particularly owner Gaifa, whose deep tissue and oil massage treatments draw consistently enthusiastic praise from visitors. The studio occupies a clean, cosy space that reflects Pai's unhurried character, offering a genuine therapeutic experience rather than a polished spa setting. Guests can expect attentive, personalised treatment with therapists who adjust pressure and technique to individual needs. Oil massage and deep tissue massage are among the specialties on offer, and the experience extends beyond the treatment itself — reviewers frequently mention tea and food served afterwards, adding a hospitable touch that sets this studio apart from more transactional wellness stops. The two primary practitioners are noted for their professionalism and ability to create a comfortable, safe environment for clients. Good to know: Pai is a small town where many businesses operate informally, so opening hours are not listed online — it is worth enquiring locally or checking on arrival to confirm availability and book a session. Comfortable, loose clothing is advisable, and Pai's wellness services are generally affordable compared to Thailand's larger tourist centres. The cooler months between November and February offer the most pleasant conditions for combining a massage visit with exploring the town's surrounding valleys, hot springs, and walking trails.

I was looking online for a highly recommended massage for my friend’s birthday. After reading various reviews, I found this place and knew it would be a good choice. I wasn’t wrong. Gaifa is a wonderful woman who, as it later turned out, is a friend of our mutual friend. The massage was a very pleasant experience — you could feel her dedication and years of practice. After the massage, we spent a lovely time chatting with Gaifa. She treated us to herbal tea and a dessert she had prepared herself. I’ve never experienced such hospitality after a massage anywhere else. I wholeheartedly recommend this place! 🙏✨😌❤️

had a really great massage here and can honestly highly recommend this place. The massage was truly good — professional, attentive, and exactly what I needed. I have something to compare it with — I lived in Chiang Mai for two years and have tried many massage places. In tourist areas, massages are often average or rushed, but here the quality is genuinely excellent. Thank you so much! I’ll definitely be back.

Wonderful experience all in all. 10 stars. Clean & lovely space. I chosed oil Massage & it was a very Loving & soft Massage with a little more pressure on the needed spots. Both Woman are super skilled & know what they do. After the massage you get a lovely Tea & some fruits. I had a wonderful conversation with Gaifa, the owner. She is full of Love & wisdom. Highly recommending & happy to come back.

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas

Learn Wat Pho First

Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.

Communicate Pressure Preferences

Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.

Book Longer Sessions

A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
