Firefly
Tucked within the Playground area of Pai, Firefly is a small café that has built a loyal following among visitors for its commitment to fresh, whole ingredients and genuinely warm hospitality. The menu leans heavily toward Western breakfast and brunch fare, with standout dishes including eggs Benedict topped with shiitake mushrooms and avocado, house-made focaccia, and sourdough bread that guests frequently take home by the loaf. Vegan-friendly options are plentiful, and the kitchen accommodates a range of dietary preferences by offering various milk alternatives alongside its coffee menu. The atmosphere is calm and unhurried, making it a comfortable spot to linger over a morning meal. Portions are generous, the ingredients taste fresh and carefully sourced, and the owner is frequently noted by visitors as particularly welcoming. It is the kind of neighbourhood café that draws people back multiple times during a single stay in Pai. Firefly opens at 08:30 daily, making it a solid option for an early breakfast before the day heats up. It closes at 16:30 on Saturdays and 17:00 the rest of the week, so it is strictly a daytime destination. Arriving early on busier days is a practical move, as the relaxed setting and consistent quality mean tables can fill up. Current updates and any menu changes are posted via their Facebook page.

Visitor Reviews
Cute cafe, yummy breakfast! Appreciate the large portion of avocado. Tastes healthy and made w whole ingredients exactly like I’d make myself at home. Dressed up w the sriracha they had on the table it was great! Sadly food took 20 minutes which felt long since I was the only customer in there. :(
A very lovely coffee place, woth delicious food, and warm service. I came twice during my stay. They serve mant breakfast and lunch western dishes, with a lot of vegan options. The atmosphere is calm and lovely, the service is so nice and warm. Their homemade breads are so good. Highly recommend.
Top breakfast in town! Plenty of choices with top and fresh ingredients. They also have different types of milk and staff are very nice. They also open relatively early and there are no customers

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
