Makkha Health & Spa Chiang Mai (Rachadamnoen)
Situated on Rachadamnoen Road in Chiang Mai's old town, Makkha Health & Spa occupies a prime position within easy reach of the city's temples, markets, and historic landmarks. The spa positions itself at the higher end of the market, with pricing that reflects its quality of service, décor, and treatment execution. Multi-treatment packages — combining options such as aroma oil massage and Thai herbal ball massage — are among the offerings available, with sessions running from 90 minutes to several hours. Visitors consistently highlight the cleanliness of the facilities, the professionalism of the therapists, and the welcoming atmosphere from arrival through to the end of treatment. Guests are typically received before their appointment with forms and refreshments, reflecting an attentive approach to hospitality. The interior is notably well-presented, and the treatment rooms maintain a standard that distinguishes it from more casual massage shops in the area. Good to know: Makkha operates on an appointment basis, so booking in advance is strongly recommended rather than walking in. This is especially important for those planning multi-treatment packages or visiting during peak tourist periods. As opening hours are not listed online, contacting the spa directly before your visit is advisable to confirm availability and secure a preferred time slot.

Visitor Reviews
Truly wonderful experience This is a higher end spa with higher prices and definitely higher end decor AND massage / treatment quality We booked a 3 hour package including 3 different treatments, and wach one was executed to perfection The therapists were also super attentive, when I coughed once my therapists noticed that I was cold and reduced the AC speed and provided additional blankets immediately You fill ina questionnaire regarding your before the massage and get some snacks and tea before and after your treatments, so that you start and end your stay here super relaxed. Overall a place that is worth the higher price tag
Absolutely amazing spa! So far we’ve gone to no less than 8 places to get massages while here in Thailand and this one is by far the best. Extremely clean and such a welcoming atmosphere. We did the spa package that included the body scrub, oil massage, and facial. It ended up being 3 hours worth of a peaceful experience.
A very relaxing place. The masseuses were very professional. Need to book an appointment. We booked for 1.5 hour session. We went 15 minutes before schedule and were given forms to fill and dessert to eat. Ended up 2 hours there as there are pre and post massage desserts.
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
