Glyn Chiangmai Thai Cuisine กลิ่นเชียงใหม่ไทยคูซีน – Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch with Local Charm
Tucked along Prapokklao Road in Chiang Mai's Old City district of Si Phum, this café and restaurant blends the warmth of a neighbourhood gathering spot with a genuinely authentic approach to Northern Thai cuisine. The airy, air-conditioned space draws both locals and travellers seeking real Chiang Mai flavours rather than tourist-facing adaptations, and the thoughtful presentation of dishes has become a talking point among visitors. The menu spans Thai staples alongside café favourites, making it equally suited to those wanting a full Thai breakfast, a lighter fruit bowl, or a midday plate of pad thai or stir-fried beef with rice. Signature highlights noted by visitors include the Four Treasures breakfast — praised for its balance of flavours — alongside fruit waffles, French toast, fresh salads, and smoothies. The coffee selection, including caramelised macchiato options, rounds out a menu that works well across breakfast and brunch occasions. The atmosphere is described consistently as fresh, casual, and welcoming, with attentive service that adds to the overall experience. Good to know: The restaurant opens daily at 7:30 AM and closes at 3:30 PM, with no closing day listed for Wednesday — note that Wednesday does not appear in the published schedule, so it is worth confirming via the website before planning a visit. Arriving earlier in the morning helps avoid peak-hour crowds and ensures the widest menu availability. The location on Prapokklao Road is easily walkable from many Old City guesthouses and sights. Casual dress is perfectly appropriate.

Visitor Reviews
Highly Recommended Oasis in the City This restaurant left a profound impression on my family and me. The quality and service far exceeded the price point—truly excellent value for money. The staff were all incredibly polite and kind, contributing to the overall wonderful experience. I ordered the smoothie, Thai tea, spaghetti, Tom Yum Goong (Spicy Shrimp Soup), and a salad, and I felt that every dish was prepared with great attention to detail and care. While the space itself is not very large, the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing and peaceful. It truly feels like a hidden "oasis" right in the heart of the city. We left feeling completely satisfied and impressed.
Really fantastic restaurant with fresh and delicious food and drinks. We had pad thai, stir fried beef with rice, yummy smoothie and a fresh house salad. Really impressed with the quality and the attention to the food. Definitely would return! Oh, has a menu of western breakfast items and a lot of authentic Thai options.
We stopped here for breakfast and it was a great find. The Four Treasures breakfast was a really delicious mix of flavours and beautifully done. The space is airy and cool with welcome air conditioning, and the team were warm and attentive. Would absolutely recommend if you’re in Chiang Mai.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
