The Living Room
Tucked along Thanon Utarakit in central Krabi Town, The Living Room has built a reputation as the kind of bar that turns first-time visitors into regulars within a single evening. Owned by the approachable Mr. Thor and Marie, the venue has a genuinely social atmosphere that draws a mixed crowd of travellers and locals, with guests frequently describing it as feeling immediately like home. It sits in a convenient spot in Tambon Pak Nam, close to a nearby street market where visitors often pick up food to enjoy alongside their drinks. The bar keeps things relaxed and unpretentious, with a selection of table games including chess, connect four, jenga, and dominoes to keep the evenings moving. Sports are screened on TV, making it a decent option for those looking to catch a game. The staff are notably attentive and regulars report being recognised on return visits, which goes some way to explaining the strong and loyal following the place has developed. Good to know: Opening hours are not listed online, so it is worth checking directly before heading out, especially on weekdays or during quieter seasons. The central location makes it easy to reach by tuk-tuk or songthaew from most Krabi accommodation, and the surrounding area has no shortage of dining options if you want to eat before arriving.

Visitor Reviews
Good friends, good vibes and good times… Instantly Felt Like Home – The Heart of Krabi Town! The Living Room is the perfect spot to grab some delicious food from the nearby market and enjoy a few drinks in a relaxed, friendly setting. There’s a free pool table, Premier League football on the screen, and a brilliant playlist that keeps the atmosphere lively without being over the top. The owners, Marie and Thor, are the heart and soul of the place – warm, genuine, and welcoming. They made us feel like old friends from the moment we met, and by the end of our trip, they truly were! Thor also runs a motorbike rental service and offers private speedboat tours, which we highly recommend – it’s easily the best way to explore the islands around Krabi. We’re already looking forward to our return. The Living Room isn’t just a bar – it’s a community, a home away from home, and an absolute must-visit when in Krabi Town.
We stumbled across this bar on our first night in Krabi town and we quickly became part of the living room family! We spent many evenings here and had some great laughs with people from around the world! Great location to grab food from the market and enjoy some drinks. Free pool table, the premier league shown and great music! The owners Marie and Thor have become friends for life! Thor also has a Motorbike rental shop and a speed boat for the best tours around the islands! We are already looking forward to our return!
Me and my partner came here on a regular basis during our time in Krabi, we’ve become friends with the owners and the regulars. The nicest people and the bar is a bonus, they play all sports on the tv and have pool, darts, card games and board games. Drinks are a good price and there’s lots of variety. It’s centred in a great location with plenty of food markets and restaurants near by, you can also enjoy the view of the lovely river.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
