Chao Fah Park
Chao Fah Park stretches along the riverfront in central Krabi town, offering a welcome green escape from the surrounding streets. The park combines walkways, creative sculptures, tennis courts, and a riverside promenade that extends approximately five kilometres — making it a genuine local amenity as well as a pleasant stop for travellers passing through the area. Longtail boats moor and depart from the adjoining piers, giving the waterfront a lively, working character that sets it apart from more manicured tourist parks. The park genuinely comes into its own after dark, when food stalls set up along the waterfront, colourful lighting illuminates the paths and sculptures, and the atmosphere picks up considerably. Bars, restaurants, and nearby rooftop venues add to the evening energy, while daytime visitors can enjoy watching river traffic and the general hustle of the surrounding town. The park is consistently noted as clean and well maintained. Those visiting during the day should be aware that shade is limited, and the open riverside location can feel particularly hot in the midday heat. Early mornings and evenings are the most comfortable times to visit, with evenings offering the fuller experience of food, atmosphere, and lighting. There is no entrance fee, and the park appears to be accessible around the clock.

Visitor Reviews
Visited Chao Fah Park at night and it turned out to be a lovely, peaceful experience. The park is beautifully lit, clean, and well-maintained, making it perfect for an evening stroll. The Chao Fah statue looks especially impressive under the lights, and there’s a calm, relaxing vibe all around. There were families and couples enjoying the space, which made it feel safe and welcoming. A great spot to unwind after dinner and soak in a quiet side of Krabi.
Delightful during the day, but even better at night with food stalls, colourful lighting and arousing atmosphere.
Brilliant. A long park next to the river. Tennis courts. Jogging tracks and a river walkway 5km long!

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
