Sky Bar
Perched on the 64th floor of State Tower along Silom Road, Sky Bar is one of Bangkok's most recognisable rooftop venues, offering sweeping 360-degree panoramic views across the city skyline. The bar gained international attention as a filming location for The Hangover Part II, and that cinematic backdrop remains a draw for visitors alongside the views themselves. The circular open-air bar sits at roughly 250 metres above street level, making for a genuinely dramatic setting after dark. Guests can expect an upscale atmosphere with live jazz performances on select evenings and a cocktail menu priced firmly at the luxury end of the scale — two cocktails can run to the equivalent of 80 euros or more. The venue spans multiple floors, with an indoor bar on a lower level and the signature open-air Sky Bar at the top. Staff are generally noted as professional and attentive, and the space suits a dressed-up evening rather than a casual drop-in. Timing makes a significant difference to the experience. Arriving around sunset allows visitors to catch the transition from golden hour to the city lights at night, with the open-air section and the covered bar offering different vantage points worth moving between. A smart dress code is enforced, so shorts and sandals are best left at the hotel. The bar opens daily from 17:00, and arriving early on weekends is advisable to avoid queues at the elevator. Given the price level, setting expectations beforehand helps — this is a venue where the view is very much part of what is being paid for.

Visitor Reviews
We‘ve visited the Sky Bar - first stop was 50ish floor where we did get Cocktails and view towards uptown. All in All about 80€ for 2 Cocktails. Price wise of course sky high but since you KNOW WHAT YOU BOOK it is not a surprise. You are going to one of the highest Cocktail Bars in the world - a top destination and landmark. Remember that e.g. in New York you are paying the same just to access the ‚rooftop’ of Empire State. But here is what you also get for it. A. Like AMAZING service + waiters who also take great pictures B. Like BEST Views in Town Afterwards you get what you are probably want to see the most: the Hangover 2 movie scene spot. After a short Elevator ride you are able to access the scene, take photos and have a great time. Also here some great service guy took hundreds of photos of us which was really great. Do it if you are around but know what’s included and don’t be upset about the prices.
The view was breathtaking and I did not know beforehand that The Hangover 2 was filmed here, which is a fun detail that probably attracts many visitors. The staff were very professional, polite and spoke good English. However, as mentioned in other reviews, I was first guided to a small bar and somewhat pushed to order a drink there before going to another bar. I declined and asked if I could simply order my drink directly at the other bar instead. After some hesitation they agreed and guided me there. I find this customer experience questionable. I was aware that drinks at rooftop bars come at a premium, but the prices here are noticeably above the average of other rooftop bars in Bangkok. Even at the Petronas Towers I paid less in total when combining the entrance ticket and a drink.
A must do if you’re visiting Bangkok, Sky Bar is mush than a rooftop bar. On top of the 64th Floor the panoramic view is breathtaking, I would recommend coming to see the sunset. The bartender here is amazing, a huge shoutout to Gaurav, Jong, Namtan and Shernan. They make the best drinks in Bangkok, definitely try the Hangovertini, it’s so good. I can’t wait to comeback soon!

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
