The Dorm Hostel

Really nice modern hostel. The lady who checked me in was friendly and kind. The beds were private and each had a built in fan, which was nice because I sleep hot. I accidentally slept in several times because the bed was so dark and cozy. The little souvenir with my name on it was a nice touch. The breakfast was simple but enough for me. Will stay again if I’m ever in the area!

The dorm of this hostel offers clean beds that feel as if you were in separate rooms. The bathroom and kitchen are pretty clean for the amount of people there are. The location is also pretty good, as it is between popular neighborhoods (the old Phuket) and more local neighborhoods (with plenty of night markets). However, the lockers had ants.

I arrived at the hostel I booked originally (the Z nite Hostel) I had booked a bed in a 4 bed dorm, upon my arrival the staff says they are overbooked because of a system error and that they didn’t have any beds for me. But not to worry, they had “upgraded” me to a private bedroom in a diferent Hostel close by (The Dorm Hostel, horrible, don’t go there). I was annoyed, but I thought that a private room was a nice compensation so I went for it (spoiler: I should have asked for my money back). Then the man says I’ll take you there by SCOOTER (mind that I was with my 15kg backpack and a small backpack on the front). I was terrified all the way there (again, shoul’ve asked for my money back). Anyways, the new Hostel was OK looking, but the bedroom they gave me, didn’t feel like an upgrade AT ALL. It was literally just a bed, a table and a chair. The sheets were “clean” but full of stains. The room didn’t look very clean, didn’t habe a bathroom. The only good thing, was the A/C .. THANK GOD. Then they told me I had to use the common bathroom upstairs (shared with the rest of the guests) and failed to mention that there was another bathroom right in front of my room, which I didn’t noticed until I left. I will say that the common bathroom and showers were decent and clean. I didn’t sleep at all all night, the google maps reviews say there were bedbugs, and also, the water heater next to my room made a clicker noise every 40s or so. Next day the woman serving breakfast (which was very underwhelming) was very rude, and didn’t care that I had to leave to catch my ferry, took all the time in the world. Anyways, this is a mixed review for both hostel so, in summary DON’T even consider, neither. Unprofessional and dirty. Not worth it.
