Compare prices
Tucked into the heart of Phuket's Old Town at 259 Thanon Talang, Purr Hostel offers a relaxed and intimate alternative to the island's busier party hostels. Its location near the end of the Sunday Night Market walking street makes it an ideal base for travellers wanting easy access to local food, culture, and the charming Sino-Portuguese architecture the neighbourhood is known for. The hostel provides simple private rooms and dormitories, some with shared bathrooms, along with breakfast and Wi-Fi included. What sets Purr Hostel apart is its reputation for genuinely attentive, warm staff. Guests consistently highlight the team's helpfulness — from offering personalised tips on local food spots and day trips, to thoughtful gestures like flexible self check-in arrangements for late arrivals. One reviewer recounted staff personally delivering a forgotten camera to the pier before their boat departed, refusing any payment in return. The hostel suits solo travellers and backpackers looking for a clean, quiet, and sociable place to stay without the noise of a party atmosphere. Good to know: the hostel is within walking distance of the Sunday Night Market, so arriving on a Sunday evening means instant access to one of Phuket Town's liveliest street markets. Travellers with late-night flights should note that self check-in is available — it is worth contacting the hostel in advance to arrange this.

Visitor Reviews
Very nice little hostel with a perfect location near the old town, at the end of the Sunday night market walking street. It's a relatively small and quiet hostel so not a big party hostel, but does have a nice space downstairs to relax and socialise with other guests. They have a small kitchenette available to use with free coffee and water, free towels and decent WiFi. The dorm room is clean and comfy with a good curtain, personal light and a locker just outside the room. It does front onto the street but it's not too busy so there's not much noise at night. The bathrooms were nice and clean and the showers worked well too. Last but not least the owners and staff are all very kind and helpful and have put up a lot of useful information on the noticeboard and will be happy to give you a bunch of tips and recommendations too! Overall a great stay and highly recommended:)
Actually the nicest people I’ve ever met. I forgot my camera in my bed and they brought it to the pier before my boat left and wouldn’t accept payment. The place is clean and the people are the nicest. Thank you for bringing me my camera, I’ll always remember your hospitality and kindness :)
Fang was a very cool employee and did a good job in advising us and giving us Tips for our Trip and where to go. The hostel is a solid one and the people are also quite nice. Rooms are clean, bathroom is OK if you're used to european standards. Would book again!

Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
