Hotel Verdigris
Tucked into the heart of Phuket Old Town on Yaowarad Road, Hotel Verdigris is a boutique property that consistently draws praise for its thoughtful design, attentive staff, and the kind of carefully considered details that distinguish it from standard accommodation. The hotel sits within easy walking distance of Old Town's Sino-Portuguese architecture, independent cafes, restaurants, and local shops, making it a natural base for travellers who want to explore the neighbourhood on foot. Guests describe beautifully appointed rooms, a welcoming lobby and reading room, a pool, and a breakfast experience that stands out — with guests noting they were able to choose from a broad selection each morning. The atmosphere leans intimate and refined rather than large-scale resort, and the hospitality from staff receives repeated mention in visitor accounts. The property suits couples, leisure travellers, and anyone with an interest in Phuket's historic Old Town district rather than its beachfront zones. A practical note for planning: Hotel Verdigris is located in Phuket Town, not on the beach, so travellers primarily seeking direct beach access should factor in transport time to the island's coastal areas. The dry season from November to February is peak travel time in Phuket, so booking well in advance is advisable. Current rates, room types, and packages are available at hotelverdigris.com.

Visitor Reviews
My wife and I stayed here for 4 days in November. The location is amazing given it's close to everything. The hotel is designed very well in a way that makes you feel very comfortable. Room was medium sized, clean and well put together. We got tea every evening delivered to our room which was a nice way to end the days. We counted about 9 Michelin star restaurants within 10mins walk near the hotel. Pick any and you won't be disappointed. There is also a Sunday night market 5 mins away from the hotel. Breakfast was always fresh and delicious with a lot of fruits and local dishes, my wife is gluten free and they even accommodated that. Everyone at the hotel was amazing, most especially Dew who was the manager and there for the 3 of the 4 days we stayed there. The hospitality from there is the reason this is high on my list for next time I'm in Phuket.
What a delightful little boutique hotel in the heart of Phuket Old Town! The staff are friendly, the hotel is spotless clean and the rooms and beds are comfortable - what is not to like?! The public spaces, notably a reading pavilion, next to the immaculate pool overlooks a stunning koi pond with large koi swimming dreamily around to frame a perfectly peaceful environment. Breakfasts are next level! Apart from an extensive Western breakfast selection on demand, try their hot bowls from Kaotom Thanon Dibuk (with one or a few proteins and noodle of your choice - mine was minced pork and fish with Mee Sua rice noodles in brown broth (yum!)). Breakfast portions are massive so go easy on the options! Make sure to include their fruit platter.
If I could live here forever, I would! Beautiful rooms, excellent staff and hospitality, amazing breakfast, aesthetically pleasing lobby/reading room/pool/dining room, such attention to detail - every night we were left a personalised note in the room and every morning there was a personalised menu card at breakfast. The beds were sooo comfortable, blackout curtains, stunning washrooms…there is really nothing more we could have asked for. And barely a ten min walk to the walking street and all the restaurants and bars.
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
