MT Friend Home & Hostel
Tucked into a quiet alley off Phangnga Road in Phuket Town, MT Friend Home & Hostel earns its name through genuinely attentive hospitality that sets it apart from typical budget accommodation. Staff go out of their way to assist guests — from carrying luggage up multiple floors to ensuring every room is cleaned daily, a standard that even larger hotels don't always maintain. Guests can expect comfortable, well-maintained rooms stocked with complimentary essentials including fresh towels, bottled water, and coffee. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, making it a welcoming choice for solo travellers and couples alike. Despite its affordable price point, the hostel delivers a level of care and cleanliness that consistently surprises first-time visitors. The location is a practical bonus: the nearest bus terminal — with connections to Phuket's beaches and the airport — is roughly a five-minute walk away, while bars and restaurants are within two minutes on foot. The surrounding alley keeps noise levels low, offering a quieter stay than properties closer to the main roads. Bookings can be made directly through the property's online reservation system, and given its strong reputation and limited size, reserving in advance is advisable, particularly during the high season between November and April.

Visitor Reviews
Quiet with good location, new facilities, and very low price. 1. Five minutes walk to bus terminal(to beach or airport)/night markets. Two minutes walk to bars/restaurants. In a quiet alley, away from the streets. It’s in the town center. Many hotels nearby are so noisy because they just located on the main street. But here, not facing the street,so it’s very quiet and that’s why i choose to stay here. 2.Very low price with new facilities and good smell in room. Even cleaner and quieter than hotels/hostels with higher price. Room always smells good. It has warm bath water and new air-conditioners and good wifi. (Many hotels nearby with higher price offer very cold bath water or maybe not so clean or the air conditioning smells bad or with poor wifi signal. ) 3.Nice hosts with good service. Hostels usually don't have elevators but don’t worry, the staff here always have quick response and will help you with your luggage. And you can contact them online. You can sense that hosts really put hearts into this place. So nice decorations with paintings and flowers. Atmosphere here makes me feel like being at home, just like its name.
At first I was not sure if I liked the hostel but then I loved it! Rooms are cleaned every day (which is amazing as some hostels keep staying dirty for days). There is a free towel, water, coffee and bananas. Lockers are available, key is provided but you can additionally add your own padlock. Room has air conditioner. One a bit uncomfortable thing is that while the bathroom is in the same room with beds, it doesn’t have door that would provide sound isolation haha The atmosphere is lovely: one days hosts invited for lunch that they made together with one of the guests, thanks :) Downstairs there are some tables where it’s nice to socialise (met some cool people!)
Very very good place. The service here is top notch: we were on the 4th floor with two suitcases, and the man carried one of them for us! That kind of gesture is not that common in Thai hotels, it's really going all and above for the customer. I'm thankful for that. There are free bananas and coffee for breakfast, the room was big and pretty decorated and the shared area downstairs is very cozy too. Finally, the location is awesome, so close to the old town, restaurants and the bus station to the airport. I really recommend staying here!
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
