Pavilion Samui Villas & Resort

4.5(1,116 reviews)

Pavilion Samui Villas & Resort occupies a prime stretch of Had Lamai Beach, one of Koh Samui's more laid-back coastlines, offering villa-style accommodation with private plunge pools and hydro pool options. The property sits beside a night market and within easy walking distance of local restaurants, making it a practical base for exploring the Lamai area without sacrificing a peaceful beachfront atmosphere.

Guests consistently highlight the attentive staff, well-equipped rooms, and the quality of the daily breakfast spread, which offers a wide enough variety to suit different tastes. The hydro pool villas are frequently cited as strong value for money, particularly for those willing to upgrade from standard plunge pool options. The on-site bar runs a popular happy hour, and the resort has welcomed non-guests looking for beach access, reflecting an generally relaxed and hospitable environment. Lamai itself offers a quieter alternative to the busier Chaweng Beach while still providing straightforward access to transport and amenities.

Reviews from Google

If you’re looking for the best value for your money, I highly recommend booking a hydro pool villa. We’d originally booked a plunge pool suite and upgraded to a hydro pool villa. The location of our HPV was just perfect, and for a little more money (or even the same amount, depending on when and where you book) you get a pool you can actually swim in, not just a tiny plunge pool. The bathroom, and especially the shower, was in better condition there as well. However, I was a bit disappointed that there was no proper roof or cover providing enough protection from the sun/rain or a somewhat sheltered space to sit under comfortably during rainy periods like in the PPS, which made the outdoor experience a little less enjoyable compared to the first room (you can’t move the chairs underneath the small area covered by the roof of the villa as the steps leading to the room are located there). The staff were very attentive and friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They were quick to learn about our “habits“ (like knowing how we prefer our coffee in the morning or providing me with an ashtray every time I went down to the beach) which added a nice touch to our overall experience. The hotel itself, as well as the beach, looked clean and well taken care of. It’s ideally located in my opinion as well, with the Lamai Night Market, several bars and shops, nice restaurants and a Seven Eleven within walking distance. Thank you for having us!!!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! 🤩The breakfasts are very generous, with a wide variety of options, so everyone can find something they like. The rooms are fully equipped with all essential amenities from bathrobes and slippers to toiletries and hygiene items, including cotton swabs or shower cap. The staff is outstanding! 🫠🤍Always kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They regularly ask if everything is okay and if you need anything, which really shows their passion and heartfelt hospitality. The location is excellent, very close to the night market, and the direct access to the sea is a huge advantage and makes the stay even more special. Highly recommended!☀️🤍

I wasn’t staying at the hotel; I was staying at another hotel in the Lamai area that doesn’t have its own beach. On the first day, while walking along the road, I found this place and asked if I could use their beach. They told me I could rent a sunbed and umbrella for 500 baht, which they would take as a deposit and use as a spending credit. I used the beach, ordered food worth 500 baht, paid 540 baht with taxes, and left very satisfied that day. I really enjoyed the seafood pasta I had there. Two days later, when I went back, they told me the beach was very crowded and fully occupied by hotel guests, and that they couldn’t offer the same arrangement again. They asked me to leave the sunbed I was sitting on. Either this should be a policy they apply consistently, or not at all — because I came to this beach trusting that arrangement, and I might not have been able to find another umbrella and sunbed elsewhere. Although the staff member apologized several times, I still had to get up and leave, and I went to a much more affordable beach next door. Being asked to leave like that was not pleasant at all.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive

Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
