Why go, and how to do it well
Punch It Gym is the Muay Thai camp in Lamai that most first-timers on Koh Samui end up at, and the reason is the package: training, rooms, a café and a shop sit on one site a fifteen-minute walk from Lamai beach, and the gym is recognized by the Sports Authority of Thailand as a professional Muay Thai gym. The coaching staff is deep for a tourist-facing camp. Team leader Kru Lek has more than 300 fights and seven titles across Channel 3, Channel 7 and Lumpinee TV, Kru Bass is a Rajadamnern champion with a 290-fight record, and Kru Book has trained Buakaw among others. Classes run for beginners, advanced students and active fighters, and the mood is deliberately friendly rather than fight-camp grim.
The pricing is simple and posted. A group class is ฿400, two classes in a day ฿700, a week ฿3,500 and a month ฿9,600; a private hour is ฿1,000, or ฿9,000 for a ten-hour pass. Test gloves and shin guards are included in the training rate, hand wraps rent for ฿50 or sell in the shop, and the Healthy Café next to the mats does fresh juices, coffee and calorie-counted meals. The on-site Muay Thai Village accommodation means the two-a-day routine happens without a scooter.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Book Popular Activities Online
Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
Check Operator Safety Records
For adventure activities (zip-lining, bungee jumping, diving), check recent reviews specifically mentioning equipment condition and safety briefings. Thailand's regulation varies — reputable operators will have insurance and certified guides.
