LUUMA

4.5(318 reviews)

Three hundred and ninety baht for a day pass is the number that makes this place worth your time. That gets you a sauna, steam room, cold plunge, ice bath, hot bath and a pool with somewhere to lie in the sun, plus a restaurant and bar on site so you never have to leave. It's in Lamai, and it's the kind of set-up where an hour turns into four without you noticing.

Two crowds get the most out of it. People who've been climbing waterfalls or riding a scooter all week and want their legs back, and people who want to sit somewhere calm with a laptop and a drink. It handles both, which is unusual.

One honest caveat. More than one person has said the sauna doesn't run as hot as they'd like, and there's been a complaint about the ice bath being short on ice and a drainage smell in the steam room. If you're a serious heat-and-ice type, temper your expectations. If you just want to soak, swim and slow down, none of that will bother you.

I had a very pleasant stay at Luuma in Koh Samui, Thailand. From the moment I arrived, the staff were extremely friendly, kind, and always ready to help with anything I needed. Their genuine hospitality made me feel truly welcome and comfortable throughout my stay. The atmosphere at Luuma is peaceful and relaxing — perfect for anyone who wants to unwind and recharge. All facilities are clean, beautifully designed, and well-maintained, creating a calm and cozy environment. Luuma also offers excellent facilities including a sauna, steam room, massage services, bain glace, and ice bath — all of which made my stay even more enjoyable. The on-site restaurant is also great, with delicious food and a lovely setting to relax. The location is convenient, close to local attractions and beaches, but still quiet enough to enjoy a sense of privacy and peace. Overall, Luuma was wonderful. I truly appreciated the helpful and friendly staff, the relaxing environment, and the great facilities. I would highly recommend Luuma to anyone visiting Koh Samui.

For just 390 baht, you can enjoy hot and cold baths, as well as the sauna and steam room. I could stay here all day without getting bored. It’s perfect for anyone who wants their body to fully relax and recharge.🙈🙈🙈✨

The atmosphere was absolutely stunning, and the 390 THB day pass is very reasonably priced. However, the sauna did not reach the temperature you would normally expect. I stayed inside for about 10 minutes but couldn’t really feel any heat. I then tried the steam room, but the smell was extremely awful, possibly due to drainage issues, which made the experience uncomfortable. After visiting both rooms once, I didn’t feel inclined to go back in. Additionally, there was no ice in the ice bath for a while, so I had to inform the staff to refill it. Overall, the place is very nice, but better maintenance of the facilities would help ensure everything runs smoothly.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
