Insolite
Insolite is a tour and activity operator based in Tambon Maret on Koh Samui's south coast, offering guided experiences that take visitors well beyond the standard beach holiday. The outfit specialises in 4x4 island tours, diving lessons, snorkelling trips, and excursions to destinations such as Ang Thong National Marine Park — giving travellers a structured but adventurous way to explore the island and its surroundings. Visitors consistently highlight the professionalism and friendliness of the guides, with team members including Joss, Nan, André, and Remy frequently mentioned by name. The 4x4 tours reach the island's highest point and its hilltop temple, with waterfall stops along the route. The diving programme caters to different experience levels, and the snorkelling options are suitable for young children, making Insolite a practical choice for families as well as solo travellers or couples. Good to know: The website (samui-insolite.com) is available in French, suggesting the operation has strong ties to French-speaking visitors, though the tours themselves are clearly enjoyed by an international crowd. It is worth contacting the team directly or checking the website to confirm availability, tour schedules, and booking requirements before arrival, as guided excursions often have limited group sizes. Koh Samui's driest and most reliable weather window runs from December through February, which is generally the best period for outdoor and water-based activities.

Visitor Reviews
We had a fantastic tour of Koh Samui in 4x4 with Joss & Nan. The whole experience was amazing. We visited the highest point of the island and its temple, stopped by a waterfall where we were able to swim, had a tasty lunch in a spot surrounded with lotus flowers, visited a coconut farm and finished the day at a viewpoint at the southern point of the island. Between each point, the driver would always stop to show us interesting things and have us try local fruits — all in a friendly & informative atmosphere. Joss is a fantastic guide, highly recommend this tour!
Great diving experience with Samui Insolite! I went with Remy for a diving class, then i came back so my wife can dive and i did snorkelling with my kids (4 and 7)! I highly recommend if you step by Samui!
We had a great day out to Angthong national park. The crew was amazing, such friendly and professional people who went out of their way to help you! The sights we visited were stunning!

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
