THE COCOON - SAMUI VIEWPOINT
Perched on an elevated hillside in Koh Samui's Bo Put area, The Cocoon draws visitors with its sweeping panoramic views across the island's jungle canopy and coastline. The venue is particularly known for its iconic hanging nets — a signature feature where guests can lounge suspended above the treetops while taking in the scenery. With a broad menu spanning Thai and Western cuisine, breakfast plates, cocktails, and bar snacks, it serves equally well as a morning coffee stop, a relaxed family lunch, or a romantic sunset dinner with live music. The atmosphere leans casual and unhurried, consistent with the laid-back island rhythm Koh Samui is known for. Staff are noted for being attentive and family-friendly, and the mid-range pricing makes it accessible without compromising on presentation or quality. The venue suits solo travellers, couples, and families alike, and the all-day format — open every day from 9am to 11pm — means it fits most itineraries without needing to plan around closures. Those visiting for the sunset views and evening atmosphere should aim to arrive between 5pm and 6pm to secure a good spot, as this is the busiest period of the day. Booking ahead or arriving early is advisable during peak season. The hilltop location is best navigated in comfortable footwear, particularly after dark. Visitor Reviews
We had the most incredible experience at The Cocoon Samui Viewpoint. The setting is absolutely breathtaking! The panoramic jungle and ocean views are truly something special. Sitting in the iconic net lounges overlooking the island felt like a dream and made for the most beautiful photos. The service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, making us feel so well taken care of throughout our visit. The food was just as impressive as the views fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything we ordered was delicious, and you can tell they put care into both the quality and the experience. This was easily one of our favorite spots in Koh Samui, and we will absolutely be recommending it to all of our friends and family. A must-visit if you’re on the island!!
I discovered this place on TikTok and decided to visit, and it truly exceeded expectations. The setting is beautiful, the food and drinks are high quality, and the view is stunning. What truly sets this place apart is the attention to the smallest details—from the table lamps to the furniture, lighting, and décor. The venue has a distinctive character, a wonderful vibe, and a charming atmosphere. They also feature a live band, which enhances the overall experience. It is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable experience in Koh Samui.
We ate at the restaurant at The Cocoon Samui and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, with a calm island vibe that makes it a nice place to sit and take your time. The food was fresh, well prepared, and nicely presented, with good flavors and solid portions. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out in good timing. Prices felt fair for the quality and setting. A great spot for a relaxed meal in Koh Samui, definitely worth stopping by even if you’re not staying at the hotel.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
