THE COCOON - SAMUI VIEWPOINT
Perched on an elevated hillside in the Bo Put area of Koh Samui, The Cocoon is a viewpoint restaurant and bar best known for its sweeping panoramic views across the island's jungle canopy and coastline. The venue's signature hanging nets — suspended above the treetops — have made it a widely recognised spot on the island, drawing visitors who come as much for the setting as for the food and drinks. The menu spans Thai and Western cuisine alongside breakfast plates, cocktails, and bar snacks, making it a flexible stop whether visitors are after a morning coffee, a casual family lunch, or a sit-down dinner with live music in the evening. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried, consistent with Koh Samui's island pace, and staff are noted across reviews for being attentive and accommodating of families with young children. Mid-range pricing keeps it accessible, and the all-day format — open every day from 9am to 11pm — means it fits most itineraries without advance planning around closures. Those visiting for the sunset views should aim to arrive between 5pm and 6pm to secure a good position, as this is the busiest period of the day. Booking ahead is advisable during peak season. The hilltop location is best approached in comfortable footwear, particularly for evening visits after dark. Further details and menu information are available at cocoon-samui.com.

Visitor Reviews
We had the most incredible experience at The Cocoon Samui Viewpoint. The setting is absolutely breathtaking! The panoramic jungle and ocean views are truly something special. Sitting in the iconic net lounges overlooking the island felt like a dream and made for the most beautiful photos. The service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, making us feel so well taken care of throughout our visit. The food was just as impressive as the views fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything we ordered was delicious, and you can tell they put care into both the quality and the experience. This was easily one of our favorite spots in Koh Samui, and we will absolutely be recommending it to all of our friends and family. A must-visit if you’re on the island!!
I discovered this place on TikTok and decided to visit, and it truly exceeded expectations. The setting is beautiful, the food and drinks are high quality, and the view is stunning. What truly sets this place apart is the attention to the smallest details—from the table lamps to the furniture, lighting, and décor. The venue has a distinctive character, a wonderful vibe, and a charming atmosphere. They also feature a live band, which enhances the overall experience. It is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable experience in Koh Samui.
We ate at the restaurant at The Cocoon Samui and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, with a calm island vibe that makes it a nice place to sit and take your time. The food was fresh, well prepared, and nicely presented, with good flavors and solid portions. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out in good timing. Prices felt fair for the quality and setting. A great spot for a relaxed meal in Koh Samui, definitely worth stopping by even if you’re not staying at the hotel.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
