BABOU
Sitting on Haad Cheweng Road in Bo Put, Babou combines a restaurant, cocktail bar, and lounge into a single venue built around a striking jungle-inspired aesthetic. Lush interiors, considered lighting, and a strong visual identity make the space itself a draw, while the kitchen and bar hold their own with well-executed food and skillfully crafted cocktails offered at prices visitors consistently describe as fair for the setting. The atmosphere sets Babou apart from the louder, more commercial venues that dominate Koh Samui's beach strip. Resident DJs play sets that lean toward spiritual and ambient sounds, creating an energy that is relaxed without feeling flat. Staff receive frequent and specific praise in visitor feedback — a reliable sign of attentive, personal service rather than the anonymous experience common at larger beach venues. The space works equally well as a seafood and dining destination earlier in the evening and as a cocktail bar and lounge as the night progresses. Good to know: the crowd and energy shift noticeably as the evening moves on, so those visiting primarily for dinner are better served by arriving early. No website or advance booking platform is currently listed, so checking recent visitor reviews or reaching out directly is advisable for up-to-date opening hours — particularly during low season, when beach venues on the island sometimes adjust their schedules.

Visitor Reviews
If you are in Koh Samui that’s a place to go! Really great vibe, with very spiritual music and great DJ, best we heard in Thailand, the interior/exterior design it’s just amazing and worth visit for itself! Each detail is well thought, mix between Tulum vibe, jungle and beach. As in comparison to places similar like Tabu in Bali and Tulum, it’s similar style but with much better food and service. The sushi, especially volcano tuna was amazing! We love the taste and presentation of each dish. Wish to have 2 stomach to try more;) Drinks are honestly good, hope they will keep the quality long term :) + for wine selection, with great description. Thanks to Aung for taking care of our table tonight and kind hospitality! U feel really welcome here. From 9:30pm there is fire show with dancers, that it’s sensual, mesmerising and classy, really nice to watch, and nothing like ugly Phuket style. Absolutely must come! * maybe just take mosquito spray with u;) Thank u for lovely evening and def see you again.
This bar completely stole our hearts! The drinks were absolutely amazing – beautifully crafted, full of flavor, and all at a very fair price. You can really tell that a lot of skill and care goes into every single cocktail. But what impressed me the most was the atmosphere. Everything is designed with so much love for detail – from the lighting to the decor – it truly feels special. Without a doubt, it’s the most beautiful bar I have ever seen. And then there’s the staff… incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. We visited two evenings in a row, and on the second night, the team behind the bar recognized us immediately. They were literally standing there together and gave us the warmest welcome. I have honestly never experienced anything like that before. It made us feel so valued and at home. This place is not just a bar – it’s an experience. We will definitely be back!
The most beautiful place was recommended to us. We could not have chosen a better place . The location, the service, the atmosphere is second to none. The food is exceptional. Thank you for a lovely time, the best place to celebrate our first wedding anniversary👌🏻

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
