Thaicookingbysu
Thaicookingbysu offers small-group cooking classes on Koh Samui, led by Su, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor who teaches authentic Thai dishes in a relaxed, personalised environment. Classes take place outdoors in Su's own garden, where fresh herbs and vegetables are grown on-site and used directly in the cooking — a detail that adds a genuine farm-to-table quality to the experience. Dishes covered have included Panang Chicken Curry, Cashew Chicken stir fry, and vegetable spring rolls, with guests able to select their preferred dishes in advance. The atmosphere is consistently described by visitors as warm and welcoming, with Su and her husband creating a setting that feels more like a home visit than a formal class. Instructions are clear and approachable for all skill levels, making it a suitable activity for complete beginners and experienced home cooks alike. The experience concludes with guests sitting down to eat the dishes they have prepared. Classes run seven days a week from 10:30 to 13:30, lasting approximately three hours. Booking in advance is recommended, as the personalised nature of the class suggests limited group sizes. Prospective visitors can confirm availability, dish selections, and any dietary requirements through the official website before arrival. The location sits within the Maret area of Koh Samui, in Surat Thani province.

Visitor Reviews
Thank you, Su! We enjoyed a cooking class on our honeymoon and we couldn‘t have asked for a better teacher. Su patiently taught us how to cook the dishes we had picked in advance. After cooking, we chatted with Su and her nice husband while enjoying our self-made lunch. While this isn‘t a cheap experience for large crowds of tourists, it is most certainly designed for those who share Su‘s passion for cooking and choose quality before quantity. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the minute they picked us up. All the recipes were sent to us after the class and „customer service“ was offered in case we have questions when cooking the recipes at home. Highly recommend!
We had such a great experience with this cooking class! From the moment we arrived, Su was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and it really felt like a personal experience rather than just a group session. You could tell they cared about what they were teaching, and the hands-on approach made it fun and engaging. The food we made was absolutely delicious — we’re still thinking about it! Highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a memorable and tasty experience.
Absolutely brilliant! Su is so clear with her instructions and obviously loves to share her passion for authentic Thai cooking. We made Panang Chicken Curry, Cashew Chicken stir fry, vegetable Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, Papaya Salad and Mango sticky rice. All were absolutely delicious! The course has really inspired us to try Thai cooking at home. Please don't hesitate to book this incredible experience. Thank you Su!

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
