This is the kind of spa you book for a birthday, not the kind you wander into for a quick foot rub. It sits on Ratvithi Road in the old town, and the whole thing is pitched at the luxurious end of the Chiang Mai scene: quiet treatment rooms, spotless surroundings, staff who talk you through the treatment before you commit. Prices sit above what you'd pay at a typical shophouse massage place, and reviewers say so openly. If your budget is 300 baht an hour, this isn't your spot.
Sessions run from a straightforward 60 minutes up to multi-hour packages, and the longer ones are where the appeal really is. Groups do well here, one review describes a 3.5 hour session with a body scrub and a Thai massage for a mother's birthday. The small stuff gets praised too: a cushion under your feet when you're face down, warm water ready before you shower. Quality isn't perfectly uniform across every therapist, but when people have flagged an off session, the spa has responded rather than shrugged.

We had a 3.5 hour spa session here for my mum’s birthday and it was truly a luxe experience! The receptionist explained our treatment well and the masseuse did a great job ensuring we were pampered and relaxed. I appreciate the small touches like putting a small cushion for our feet when facing down or preparing the warm water before we showered, as well as checking in to ensure we were comfortable. We did a body scrub and Lanna Colonial, and our favourite part was definitely the thai massage. It kneaded away at our fatigued bodies but it was not as intense as the Bangkok style, and we even dozed off! Highly recommended, do make a booking in advance.
Zira Spa is truly magically !!! From the moment I walked into the spa to the treatment and til the moment I left. Everyone so intentional and attentive to my presence. This was my first time and it truly did not disappointment. The treatment was done by Toon and she had magical hands, it was an out of body experience. I was also very lucky that they accommodated me with the last spot at late notice as they were fully booked. Truly lucky!! Thank you and I will definitely be returning again!

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
Try a Herbal Compress
Add a herbal compress (luk pra kob) to your massage — steamed bundles of lemongrass, turmeric, and camphor pressed into sore muscles. It's deeply therapeutic and uniquely Thai. Usually just 200–300 THB extra.
